You can delete arrays using RAIDConsole.
Caution! If an array is deleted, the data on the array is lost. It is very unlikely the data can be
recovered.
Notes:
• If the operating system is using an array, you cannot delete it. You can make sure the operating
system is not using an array by removing any drive letters or partitions from the array using the
Logical Disk Management function from the Computer Management window.
• If the array is not being used by the operating system, it can be deleted at any time, even while
tasks are running on the array.
• If you accidentally delete an array and want to try recovering the data, you can create an array
and enable the Leave Existing Data Intact option, which writes new configuration information to
the array while trying to use exactly the same disk space as before. Generally this option is used
as a last resort, and the likelihood of recovering data with this method is very low unless done
immediately after the array was deleted and before any other tasks are performed.
To delete an array:
1.
In the Array Status window, click the array to be deleted.
2.
From the Array menu, select Delete.
