FLASH12P - REAR PANEL

1. INPUT (SPEAKON)
External amplifi er power input: this is the connector where you plug in
the power cable coming from your power amplifi er or powered mixer.
The powered signal is fi ltered by an internal passive crossover for the
LF woofer and HF compression driver. The INPUT speakon has this pin
connection:
PIN1+: positive power signal (usually red wire)
PIN1-: negative power signal (usually black wire)
2. LINK (SPEAKON)
Output of the power signal to be sent to another loudspeaker. INPUT
and LINK connectors are in parallel connection.
PROTECTION
A protection circuit is built in to protect the high-frequency compression
driver from excessive power. When the
power to the HF driver approaches the
maximum, the power delivered to the
driver is momentarily interrupted.
NOTE: The protection circuit is
designed to protect the HF driver
under reasonable and sensible
conditions. Should you choose
to ignore the warning signs (i.e.,
frequent clip LED indications, excessive
distortion), you can still damage the
speakers by overdriving them past
their recommended amplifi er power-
handling ratings, or past the point of amplifier clipping. Such
damage is beyond the scope of the warranty.
CHOOSE THE AMPLIFIER POWER
We give you two power-handling numbers: rms (continuous), and peak.
So these data suggest you can use any amplifi er with a power capability
equal or less the power-handling, but this rule is valid only if the amplifi er
never clip anytime.
Preventing loudspeaker damage caused by clipping, that is likely the
number one cause of damage, and assuming you want to use the full
capability of the loudspeaker, we recommend the use of an amplifi er
with a built-in limiter to prevent clipping, in this case the rated power
capability must be the same continuous power rating of the loudspeaker
into the same specifi ed impedance (tipically 4 or 8 ohms):
• To obtain the best result using FLASH12P / 8 ohm we suggest
the use of PROEL HPD-1000 amplifier for a standard sterero
confi guration.
• To obtain the best result using FLASH12P / 4 ohm we suggest
the use of PROEL HPA-450 amplifier for a standard sterero
confi guration.
IMPORTANT: Clipping occurs when the signal at the output of any
device in the system (not just the amplifi er) reaches its maximum
level. Proper operation of a sound system includes being aware of
the types of audio signals being reproduced, controlling the output
levels accordingly, and operating all the devices in the system so that
no clipping occurs within the signal chain.

1. INGRESSO SPEAKON (INPUT)
Ingresso del segnale di potenza proveniente da un amplifi catore esterno:
questo è il connettore dove inserire il cavo di potenza proveniente
dall'amplifi catore di potenza o dal mixer amplifi cato. Il segnale di potenza
è fi ltrato da un crossover passivo interno per il woofer (bassi) e il driver
(alti). L'ingresso speakon INPUT ha queste connessioni:
PIN1+: segnale di potenza positivo (solitamente fi lo rosso)
PIN1-: segnale di potenza negativo (solitamente fi lo nero)
2. RILANCIO SPEAKON (LINK)
Uscita del segnale di potenza da inviare ad un altro diff usore acustico.
I connettori INPUT e LINK sono collegati in parallelo tra loro.
PROTEZIONE
All'interno è incorporato un circuito per proteggere il driver delle
l'altoparlante sovraccaricandolo con potenza in eccesso rispetto a
a quella massima consentita. Simili tipi di guasti sono al di là dei
diritti di garanzia.
SCELTA DELL' AMPLIFICATORE DI POTENZA
Sono forniti due dati di potenza applicabile: rms (continua), e di picco.
Perciò questi dati suggeriscono di usare un qualsiasi amplifi catore con una
capacità di potenza uguale o inferiore alla potenza applicabile, ma questa
regola è valida solo se l'amplifi catore non clippa mai.
Per prevenire i danni all'altoparlante causati dal clip, che è la principale
causa di guasti, e supponendo che si voglia usare l'altoparlante al
massimo delle sue possibilità, è consigliato l'uso di un amplifi catore con
incorporato il limiter di prevenzione del clip, in questo caso la capacità
di potenza dell'amplifi catore deve essere la stessa potenza applicabile
all'altoparlante alla stessa specifica impedenza (tipicamente 4 o 8
ohm):
• Per ottenere il miglior risultato usando le FLASH12P / 8 ohm
si suggerisce l'uso dell'amplificatore PROEL HPD-1000 per una
confi gurazione stereo standard.
• Per ottenere il miglior risultato usando le FLASH12P / 4 ohm
si suggerisce l'uso dell'amplificatore PROEL HPA-450 per una
confi gurazione stereo standard.
IMPORTANTE: Il clip avviene qualora il segnale all'uscita di un
qualsiasi dispositivo nel sistema (non solo l'amplifi catore) raggiunge
il suo massimo livello. Un'appropriato uso di un sistema audio
richiede di essere consapevoli del tipo di segnale audio riprodotto,
regolando i livelli di uscita di conseguenza, e agendo in modo che
non avvenga nessun clip sul percorso del segnale fra tutti i dispositivi
audio coinvolti.
