IBM posts SPECjbb2005 benchmark scores for BladeCenter HS22V server
March 23, 2010 ... IBM® has published a SPECjbb®2005 benchmark score for the IBM
BladeCenter® HS22V server, using IBM J9 Java™6 Runtime Environment. The HS22V achieved
a score of 875,369 SPECjbb2005 business operations per second (SPECjbb2005 bops) and
145,895 SPECjbb2005 bops/JVM (total of six JVMs), running SPECjbb2005 (Java Business
Benchmark). This score is competitive for a 2-socket blade server using the Intel® Xeon®
Processor X5670. SPECjbb2005 is the SPEC® benchmark used for evaluating the performance
of servers running typical Java applications.
The HS22V was configured with the Intel Xeon Processor X5670 (2.93GHz with 256KB L2 cache
per core and 12MB L3 cache per processor—2 chips/12 cores/6 cores per chip), 24GB of
memory, one 50GB disk drive, and IBM J9 Java 6 (using a 1875MB heap), and Microsoft®
Windows® Server 2008 R2 Enterprise x64 Edition. (1)
The IBM BladeCenter HS22V is a high-density blade that offers outstanding performance for
virtualization with new levels of memory capacity and processor performance. The HS22V blade
is optimized for virtualization with 18 DIMM slots supporting up to 144GB of DDR3 memory for
more and larger virtual machines per blade. The HS22V is powered by the latest Intel Xeon 5600
and 5500 Series processors.
Results referenced are current as of March 23, 2010. The SPECjbb2005 results have been
submitted to SPEC for review. Upon successful review, the result will be posted at www.spec.org.
