    AIR FOR COMBUSTION AND VENTILATION Continued Ventilation Air From Outdoors Provide extra fresh air by using ventilation grills or ducts. You must provide two permanent openings: one within 12" of the ceiling and one within 12" of the floor. Connect these items directly to the outdoors or spaces open to the outdoors.

An electrical power cord is supplied with this unit. For Mantel Installation Determine from which side of the fireplace the power cord will exit.

INSTALLATION Continued For Mantel Installation If fireplace is to be installed into a mantel, (see Conventional Fireplace Installation, pages 18 and 19) the wall switch may be mounted on either side of the mantel, facing to the side. Do not locate wall switch anywhere on the front face of the mantel.

    INSPECTING BURNERS Check pilot flame pattern and burner flame patterns often. PILOT FLAME PATTERN Figure 59 shows a correct pilot flame pattern. Figure 60 shows an incorrect pilot flame pattern. The incorrect pilot flame is not properly heating the thermocouple. When the thermocouple cools, the heater will shut down.
