Adjusting the sound quality (TONE/SDB)

TONE/SDB
Press the
button.
• The tone switches as shown below each time the
TONE/SDB button is pressed.

With the name of the item to be adjusted

selected, press the

DEFEAT:
The signals do not pass through the SDB, bass and treble
adjustment circuits, providing higher quality sound.
SDB (Supper Dynamic Bass):
Press the CURSOR

button to select "ON" or "OFF".

Setting SDB to "ON" makes for powerful bass sound.
BASS, TREBLE:
• To increase the bass or treble:
Press the CURSOR
button. (The bass or treble sound can be

increased to up to +10 dB in steps of 2 dB.)
• To decrease the bass or treble:
Press the CURSOR
button. (The bass or treble sound can be

decreased to up to –10 dB in steps of 2 dB.)
When TONE/SDB is displayed, the item can be switched
pressing the CURSOR • or
button, and TONE/SDB button.

If no operation is performed within 4 seconds, the display
switches back to what was previously displayed.

Auto power on function

• When the
standby mode, the ADV-S101's power turns on automatically,
and if a disc is loaded in the S-101 the disc is played.
• The auto power on function also turns the power on when the
disc holder is opened while the ADV-S101 is in the standby

System functions

• This unit is equipped with a last function memory which stores
the input and output setting conditions as they were
immediately before the power is switched off.
This function eliminates the need to perform complicated
resettings when the power is switched on.
• The unit is also equipped with a back-up memory. This function
provides memory storage when the power switch is off and
with the power supply cord disconnected.

Initialization of the microprocessor

When the indication of the display is not normal or when the
operation of the unit does not shows the reasonable result, the
initialization of the microprocessor is required by the following
procedure.

ON/STANDBY
Press the
switch to set the
standby mode, then unplug the set's power
supply cord from the wall power outlet.

Hold the following
button and FUNCTION

button after 30 second, and plug the power
supply cord into the outlet.

Check that the entire display is flashing with an
interval of about 1 second, and release your
fingers from the 2 buttons.
The microprocessor will be initialized.
• If step 3 does not work, start over from step 1.
• If the microprocessor is reset, all the buttons and the setup
settings are reset to the factory default values.
