Make sure you leave a minimum 4 cm of space free around the unit to allow accumulated operating heat to dissipate. • Base connection of loudspeakers Provide cabling (star-form) cabling from the loudspeakers to the unit (fi g2-12). When doing so respect the polarity of the loudspeaker: red clamp of the loudspeaker with the red wire connection, black clamp of the loudspeaker with the black wire connection.

    art5.4/8.8 8. Checking the rF reception level. The range of the remote control can depend strongly on the environment in which the unit is used. Metal walls, f ences, columns etc. can infl uence the operating range. The RSSI value offers an indication as to how well a data packet will be received. This value varies between 28 and 85. One has the greatest risk of losing communication from a value of 80.

    art5.4/8.8 10.7 How do I play my digital music? (From SD card, USB). Neither the ART8.8 nor the ART5.5 has a hard disk to update audio tracks. The internal memory of the ART5.5/ART8.8 updates (indexes) audio fi les which are available on either a USB device, SD card or shared network drive. The ART8.8 has 3 digital players which can play your favourite music simultaneously. In the case of ART5.4 this is a single digital player.

(pages 22-23) 11.1 How do I activate sources coupled in analogue mode (infrared control)? On the ART8.8 and ART5.4 you can connect 3 respectively 2 external, analogue sources (fi g2-11). Each of those sources can be activated by infrared via the IR-P1 up to IR-P3 (Fig2-1). Here, the infrared codes of the original remote control of the analogue source will be synchronised to the ART5.4/8.8 unit. These external sources can be activated via menus on the RM88 remote control (e.g.

We can thus couple a button to a learned IR code. • In the setup-menu, choose ‘Devices’ and select the ‘device’ wanted from the list (e.g. CD-player). • In the following menu option choose ‘Layout’.

This means that a server or router in the network will assign an IP address to the device.
