2. It will be necessary to temporarily remove rear bumper assembly to drill holes.
BUMPER REMOVAL:
A. Remove plastic threshold panel at base of trunk lid / rear door (wagon).
B. Pull away interior soft panels enough to access interior body at rear, left, and right sides.
C. Remove (6) 10mm nuts securing the steel bumper reinforcement.
D. Remove (2) 8mm nuts above these 10mm nuts.
E. Remove the screws securing the bumper cover at the forward inside lower corner of each tail light assembly.
F. At each wheel opening (outside car) remove metal screw at top edge of bumper fascia.
G. CAUTION: There may be wiring running between chassis and bumper assembly. Bumper assembly should
be placed beam side up close to car on a soft surface for drilling without disconnecting this cable.
3. Drill all mounting holes using a 7/16" drill bit.
4. Make one access hole 1 1/8" diameter centered between holes in bumper beam. Fishwire a 7/16-14 carriage

6. Remove fishwires and install fasteners as shown.
7. Torque all 7/16" hardware to 50 lb.-ft. and all 3/8" hardware to 30 lb.-ft.
PERIODICALLY CHECK THIS RECEIVER HITCH TO ENSURE THAT ALL FASTENERS
ARE TIGHT AND THAT ALL STRUCTURAL COMPONENTS ARE SOUND.
