1. Safety Summary
This product has been designed for the air conditioning system.
●
DO NOT install the indoor unit, outdoor unit, wired controller and cable in the following places;
1. Where oil vapor or oil is dispersed (It may cause a fire, deformation, corrosion or failure.)
2. Where the hot springs are near (in a sulfuric environment)
3. Where the sea is near (in the salty environment) (It may cause corrosion.)
4. An acid or alkaline environment
5. Where children can touch
6. Where discharge air from the unit directly blows
7. A place with humid atmosphere
8. A place possibility of water wetting
9. A place of poorly ventilated
●
In order to protect the unit from malfunction, pay attention to the following points when the unit is installed in a hospital
or other facilities where electromagnetic wave is generated from medical equipment.
1. DO NOT install the indoor unit, outdoor unit, wired controller and cable within approximately 3 meters from strong
electromagnetic wave radiators such as a radio.
2. In case that the wired controller is installed in a place where electromagnetic wave radiation is generated, shield the wired
controller and cables by covering with the steel box and running the cable through the metal conduit tube.
3. In case that electric noise is applied at the power source for the indoor unit, provide a noise filter.
●
When the function selection of "Thermistor of Wired controller" is used, do NOT install the unit in the following places;
1. Where the average room temperature cannot be detected
2. Where it is exposed to the direct sunshine
3. Where it is close to the heat source
4. Where the outside air blows when door is opened/closed
● DO NOT pour water into the wired controller (hereafter called "controller". This product is equipped with electrical
parts. If poured, it will cause a serious electrical shock.
● Prior to the installation work, ensure that foundation is flat, level and sufficiently strong and then fix the unit securely. If
the foundation is not strong enough, it may lead to injuries caused by falling of the product, electrical shock or fire.
● DO NOT install the unit in a place where generation, flowing, staying or leaking of flammable gas is detected.
● DO NOT perform installation work and electrical wiring connection by yourself. Contact your distributor or dealer of
YORK and ask them for installation work and electrical wiring by service person.
● Perform electrical work according to the Installation Manual and all relevant regulation and standards. If the instructions
are not followed, an electrical shock and fire may occur due to insufficient capacity and inadequate performance.
● Use specified cables to connect between indoor unit and controller. Selecting incorrect cables may lead to fire or
electrical shock.
● As for the electrical wiring work and check, turn OFF the main power supply before opening/closing the service cover of
indoor unit. If service cover is opened with main power supply left on, it may result in an electrical shock.
Note: The following list serves check list. Tick the checkbox (
2. Installation Work
2.1 Choosing Place of Installation
Select a suitable place for fixing the controller in agreement
with the customer.
Do not install the controller at following places:
● Reachable to kids
● Where there is direct discharge of air from air conditioner
2.2 Before Installation
The package contains the following components:
[A] Wired Controller (Q'ty: 1, For Operation Control)
[B] Screw <M4x16L> (Q'ty: 2, For Fixing the Holding Bracket
onto the Wall)
[C] Installation & Maintenance & Operation Manual (Q'ty: 2)
[D] Terminal (Q'ty: 1, For fixing cable)
2.3 Installation Procedures
1) Insert the edge of the slotted screwdriver into the groove at the bottom of the bracket holder. Rotate the
screwdriver to remove the controller from the bracket holder.
Approx. 6mm
2) Attach the controller to the bracket holder and connect the cable as shown:
1. Prepare field-supplied Implanted Switch Box (GB standard 86*86 Box).
2. Lead the cable through the conduit tube inside the wall.
3. Connect to the wired controller through the terminal provided.
3) Attach the wired controller to the bracket holder.
Note: Be careful not to pinch the cable while attaching it.
4) Remove the protection film on the liquid crystal display.
3. Electrical Wiring
ATTENTION:
Ensure to disconnect power at the main source before initiating electrical work. Failure can cause fire,
damage to internal components damage and severe/fatal electrical shock.

NOTICE :
A.
Use 0.3 to 0.75mm2 cable for wired connection. The maximum cable length is 30m. If the total cable length exceeds
30m, use twisted pair cable with shield tube (1P - 0.75 mm2). In that case, the maximum total cable length is 500m.
Usage of cable outside this specifications can cause damage from electronic interference (EMI).

Maintain a distance of at least 30cm between the transmission line (remote control cable and transmission wires) and
power source of the indoor units. If not, the unit can malfunction due to electromagnetic interference (EMI) generated by
incoming power cables from the power source.
C.
In systems where multiple indoor units are in synchronized control under a single controller, assign unique refrigerant cycle
numbers and address for indoor units.
Refer to Technical Catalog provided with each indoor unit while connecting the wires between the controller and indoor
D.
units to set the refrigerant cycle number and the indoor unit address.
E.
Ensure that there is no gap between the controller cable and the cable access inlet of the controller box casing. Cover the
gap with vinyl tape sealing if exists. Gap can lead to moisture inside the controller and insect entry, which can cause
degraded performance and/or damage to the unit.
If the wired controller screen stays in initialization mode for a long time (>5 minutes) after power on, power off the system
