Forearm crutch, pediatric version

1. Characteristics
The forearm crutch is made with an ergonomic, durable handgrip and an
anodized aluminum leg with a high-quality rubber tip. Its ergonomic shape is
designed to properly match the elbow angle, allowing the pressure to be evenly
distributed across the handgrip.
3. Adjustment
To adjust the crutch, press the metal pin and select the appropriate position of
the inner tube. Lock the tubes in place using the metal pin. The crutch is
adjustable in 2.5 cm increments.
• To set the proper length of the crutch, stand upright and bent upper limb
in elbow joint at the angle of 20°.
• The crutch should be adjusted individually to the user so that the handgrip
is at hip joint level and the cuff is at the height of upper part of the
forearm.

2. Application
The forearm crutch is ancillary equipment which is used to
increase the area of support in case of patients with
reduced mobility. The crutch is recommended to patients
who need help and support while walking and it can also be
used for gait-reeducation as an aid in keeping balance after
the injuries of lower limbs or trunk.
Contraindications: coordination and balance disorders,
advanced rheumatic changes, injuries and dysfunctions of
upper limbs which may hinder the user to support on the
crutch.
