Aligning the Print Head from the Operation Panel

This procedure is necessary to maintain optimal printing quality. Make sure to follow the procedure
below to align the Print Head.
The print head positions are aligned automatically. When the pattern shown on step 4 is printed, the
alignment is complete.
1
Pinch and slide the Paper Guide (A) to the left
end.
2
Load a sheet of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper
with the print side facing UP in the Auto Sheet
Feeder.
Align the paper with the Cover Guide (A), then slide
the Paper Guide against the paper stack.
3
Make sure that Yes is selected, then press
the OK button.
The print head alignment pattern will be printed in
black and blue.
Note
Print Head Alignment takes about 6 minutes to
complete. Do not start another operation until the
alignment is completed.
If this message does not appear after closing the
Scanning Unit (Printer Cover), refer to "Aligning the
Print Head" in the User's Guide on-screen manual.
