Short Description & Specifications 3 Short Description & Specifications Application The Shatter Index Tester, Model 42159, is designed to measure resistance to degeneration and plasticity of clay bonded sand upon impacting a target at a fixed velocity. This “shatter index” has been shown to correspond to the ability to draw deep pockets during the molding process.
The Shatter Index Tester, Model 42159, is shipped in two sections. The instrument will require some basic assembly before use. The approximate instrument shipping dimensions are 55 in. x 24 in. x 20 in (1397 mm x 610 mm x 508 mm).
