Read this user manual carefully before you use the appliance and save it for future reference.

- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.

- Always check the appliance before you use it. Do not use the appliance if any of its parts is damaged or broken, as this may cause injury.
- Only use this appliance on body areas below the neckline. Do not use the appliance on the head and face.
- Do not use the appliance without the 0.5mm skin protector or the 3mm trimming comb.
- We strongly advise you to trim longer hairs with the 3mm trimming comb first before you use the 0.5mm skin protector, which is specially intended for trimming shorter hairs.
- If the appliance is subjected to a major change in temperature, pressure or humidity, let the appliance acclimatise for 30 minutes before you use it.
- For hygienic reasons, the appliance should only be used by one person.
- Be careful with hot water when you clean the attachments. Always check if the water is not too hot, to prevent your hands from getting burnt.
- Never use compressed air, scouring pads, abrasive cleaning agents or aggressive liquids such as petrol or acetone to clean the appliance.
- Only run the appliance on one non-rechargeable 1.5V R6 AA battery.
- Use and store the appliance at a temperature between 15°C and 35°C.
- Do not expose the appliance to direct sunlight.
- Remove the battery from the appliance if you are not going to use it for some time.
- Maximum noise level: Lc= 75 dB(A).

- This appliance is waterproof and complies with the internationally approved safety regulations. It is suitable for use in the bath or shower and for cleaning under the tap.

Preparing for use
Placing the batteries
- To remove the battery compartment cover, turn it clockwise until it is in the unlocked position.

- Pull the battery compartment cover off the handle.

- Put the battery in the battery compartment.

Make sure the + and - poles of the battery point in the right direction.
Note: The appliance runs on one R6 AA 1.5-volt battery (included). Preferably use Philips alkaline batteries. A new AA alkaline battery has an operating time of up to 90 minutes. - Slide the battery compartment cover back onto the handle.

- Turn the battery compartment cover anticlockwise until it is in the locked position.

To avoid damage due to battery leakage:
- do not expose the appliance to direct sunlight.
- do not expose the appliance to temperatures higher than 35°C.
- remove the battery if you are not going to use the appliance for a month or more.
- do not leave an empty battery in the appliance.
Using the appliance
Take your time when you first start to trim sensitive areas.
You have to acquire practice with the appliance. Your skin also needs some time to adjust to the procedure.
Do not use this appliance to trim facial hair or scalp hair.

Trimming
The appliance comes with two trimming combs that allow you to cut hair to 2 different lengths. Start with the 3mm trimming comb to acquire practice with this appliance.

- Snap the trimming comb into place. Make sure that the indication on the comb is aligned with the indication on the trimming head. - Place the appliance at an angle of 45° onto the skin.

- Push the on/off slide upwards to switch on the appliance. When you trim dense hair, make slow and well-controlled movements.

- Move the appliance against the direction of hair growth.

Note: Make sure that the flat part of the trimming comb is always fully in contact with the skin.
Note: Do not use too much pressure.
Trimming tips
- If the hairs are longer than 20mm, you can trim them to a length of 3mm first to make trimming easier.
- The appliance works best under dry conditions. Dry your skin with e.g. a towel when using on moist areas, such as underarms.
- Stretch the skin in sensitive areas such as the chest and the scrotum.

Cleaning
Clean the appliance after every use.
Never use compressed air, scouring pads, abrasive cleaning agents or aggressive liquids such as petrol or acetone to clean the appliance.
- Push the on/off slide downwards to switch off the appliance.

- Remove the 3mm trimming comb or 0.5mm skin protector if it is still attached.
- Use the cleaning brush supplied to clean the 3mm trimming comb or 0.5mm skin protector.

- Use the cleaning brush supplied to clean the inside of the trimming head.

- Rinse the 3mm trimming comb and the 0.5mm skin protector under the tap.

- Rinse the inside of the trimming head under the tap.

- Carefully shake off excess water and let dry.
