ASSEMBLY Assembly Preparation ■ Carefully remove all contents from the product packaging. ■ Ensure you have all the accessories and tool(s) needed for assembly and operation. This also includes suitable personal protective equipment. ■ Do not discard the packing material until you have carefully inspected and satisfactorily operated the product.

ASSEMBLY ■ Pull out and rotate the locking pin anticlockwise to stop at the bracket as shown (Fig. 3 & 4). ■ Align the position hole on the shaft with the locking pin, and then insert the shaft into the clamp. Release the locking pin by turning clockwise.

ASSEMBLY ■ Insert the hex key into the hole to lock the spindle (Fig. 13). ■ Fit the blade onto the spindle with the print side down. ■ Put the pressure plate onto the blade. Then put the pressure plate cover onto the pressure plate.
OPERATION Battery Pack Operation ® ■ Use only with 8.4V LawnMaster YLS0042A-E084045 battery charger. The battery charger supplied is specifically designed for the lithium-ion battery used in this tool. ■ Check the power voltage! Battery chargers operate on 100-240V AC.

OPERATION ■ Add the remaining amount of petrol, close the fuel container, and shake again. ■ Ensure that the fuel is well mixed by shaking the container before filling the fuel tank (Fig. 24). Filling the Fuel Tank (See Fig. 25) NOTE: Before each use, ALWAYS shake the fuel container thoroughly to ensure that the fuel is mixed completely.

OPERATION Starting and Stopping (See Figs. 29-34) WARNING Do not allow familiarity with products to make you careless. Remember that a careless fraction of a second is sufficient to inflict serious injury. WARNING Always wear eye protection with side shields, along with head protection. Failure to do so could result in objects being thrown into your eyes and other possible serious injuries.

OPERATION NOTE: After the engine starts and runs, release the throttle lever and allow the product to warm up at idle for several minutes. WARNING Make sure the carburetor’s idle screw is correctly adjusted. The cutting attachment should never turn at idle. If the cutting attachment moves at idle speed, discontinue use immediately and contact a qualified service dealer to have the tool repaired.

OPERATION WARNING Always position the trimmer on your right side in order to reduce exposure to hot surfaces which can cause possible serious injuries. WARNING Do not contact the engine during operation to avoid burns from hot surfaces. ■ Use the trimmer head to cut smaller types of weed, lawn grass or similar soft vegetation. ■...

OPERATION ■ The line can wear quickly and even break when used against solid surfaces such as fences, borders, curbs and walls made of metal, wood, stone and brick. Avoid using the trimmer against these materials. Advancing the Line (See Fig. 38) This trimmer uses a line advance system which requires the operator to tap or bump the trimmer head on the grass while running the engine at full throttle.

OPERATION NOTE: The cutter blade is supplied with a cover surrounding the edge of the blade. The cover should be removed while the product is in use, but for your safety, and to protect the blade, the cover should be installed whenever the cutter is not in use. NOTE: Do not sharpen the blade.
MAINTENANCE Normal maintenance, replacement or repair of emission control devices and systems may be performed by a qualified service center or qualified individual that uses CLEVA parts. Warranty repairs must be performed by a qualified service center; please contact your service dealer for assistance or Customer Service.

MAINTENANCE ■ To reinstall the trimmer head cover, first align the mounting holes on the trimmer head cover with the locking tabs ( 7 ) on the trimmer head housing as shown. Then press the locking tabs and push the trimmer head cover onto the trimmer head housing. Make sure they are secured tightly (Fig.

MAINTENANCE WARNING Check for fuel leaks. Do not use the product in the presence of a leak as it is a fire hazard. Loose or damaged tank caps, or leaking tanks must be replaced immediately. Failure to follow this instruction may lead to serious personal injury. Use a clean cloth to remove loose dirt from around the fuel tank cap and empty the fuel tank.
MAINTENANCE ■ Attach the blade cover to the brush cutter blade. Attach other transportation guards, if applicable. ■ Always carry the product by its handles. ■ Protect the product from any heavy impact or strong vibrations which may occur during transportation in vehicles.
