ASSEMBLY Assembly Preparation ■ Carefully remove all contents from the product packaging. ■ Ensure you have all the accessories and tool(s) needed for assembly and operation. This also includes suitable personal protective equipment. ■ Do not discard the packing material until you have carefully inspected and satisfactorily operated the product.

ASSEMBLY ■ Remove the protection cap from the shaft. ■ Loosen the locking knob on the clamp anticlockwise. ■ Pull out and rotate the locking pin anticlockwise to stop at the bracket as shown (Fig. 4 & 5). ■ Align the position hole on the shaft with the locking pin, and then insert the shaft into the clamp. Release the locking pin by turning clockwise.

ASSEMBLY ■ Make sure that the debris guard has been attached properly and the trimmer head has been removed refering to the Trimmer Head Replacement section on page 36. ■ Insert the hex key into the hole to lock the spindle (Fig. 14). ■...
OPERATION Battery Pack Operation ® ■ Use only with 8.4V LawnMaster YLS0042A-E084045 battery charger. The battery charger supplied is specifically designed for the lithium-ion battery used in this tool. ■ Check the power voltage! Battery chargers operate on 100-240V AC.

OPERATION • After continuous or repeated charging cycles without interruption, the charger may warm up. This is normal and does not indicate a technical defect of the battery charger. Handling the Fuel DANGER The fuel is VERY flammable. Use extreme care when mixing, storing or handling, or serious personal injury may result.

OPERATION Mixing Tips ■ Always start by filling the supplied fuel container with half of the required amount of petrol. ■ Then add the entire amount of 2-cycle lubricant. Close the container and shake to mix the lubricant with the petrol. ■...

OPERATION • For brush cutter: The cutter blade should be at the height of around 20cm above the ground (Fig. 29). ■ Tighten the screw until the machine is in the floating position. OPERATION NOTE: This 2-cycle product is equipped with an automatic choke reset. The user must switch the choke lever to CHOKE ( ) position for cold starts. As soon as the throttle lever is engaged, the choke lever will automatically switch to the RUN ( ) position.

OPERATION Trimming (See Fig. 37) WARNING The engine housing can become hot when the tool is being used. Do not make contact with this part of the tool during use and whilst it is still hot. When holding the tool, ensure all body parts are clear of the engine housing.

OPERATION ■ Keep the tool to the right side and away from your body to avoid making contact with hot surfaces (Fig. 37). ■ Keep the trimmer head angled towards the area being cut. ■ The straight shaft cutter cuts best when moving the unit from left to right. Passing the tool in this direction will reduce the amount of debris thrown towards the operator.

OPERATION Using the Blade for Brush Clearing (See Fig. 41) WARNING To avoid hazards never cut heavier weeds, brush and similar vegetation with a thickness of over 6mm. Avoid contact with stones, wire, glass etc. that may cause injury to the user! Inspect the blade regularly for damage, cracks or breaks! Always replace a damaged blade! WARNING...

MAINTENANCE ■ To reinstall the trimmer head cover, first align the mounting holes on the trimmer head cover with the locking tabs ( 8 ) on the trimmer head housing as shown. Then press the locking tabs and push the trimmer head cover onto the trimmer head housing. Make sure they are secured tightly (Fig.

MAINTENANCE ■ To install a new blade, refer to the Installing the Brush Cutter Blade section on page 24. Cleaning the Exhaust Port and Muffler If the brush cutter appears less efficient or powerful, it may be due to the build-up of carbon deposits around the exhaust port and muffler.

MAINTENANCE WARNING Check for fuel leaks. Do not use the cutter in the presence of a leak as it is a fire hazard. Loose or damaged tank caps, or leaking tanks must be replaced immediately. Failure to follow this instruction may lead to serious personal injury. Use a clean cloth to remove loose dirt from around the fuel tank cap and empty the fuel tank.
