INSTRUCTIONS FOR THERMOWELD GROUNDING CONNECTIONS - CABLE TO STEEL OR CAST IRON
CS-48
Place sleeve on the end of the cable, allowing
cable to extend past end of sleeve 1/8" and place
into the hammer die. Strike the lid of the hammer
die with a hammer to form the end of the cable.
Insert formed end of cable under center of tap
hole. When welding to flat steel, hold down on
mold cover to prevent mold from tipping.

NOTE: When the pipe wall is under
NOT USE a cartridge larger than a #65CI alloy
cartridge.
DO NOT USE type CS-48 or CS-49 on soil pipe
(ASTM A-74-82). A test weld should be made on
a section of the pipe being used to determine the
possibility of detrimental metallurgical effects.
