INSTRUCTIONS FOR THERMOWELD GROUNDING CONNECTIONS - CABLE TO STEEL OR CAST IRON

Place end of cable under center of tap hole. When welding
to flat steel, hold down on mold cover to prevent mold
from tipping.
If welding to pipe,
use 40-0106-37 chain clamp.
(Note: Handle clamps may be
placed on either the cable side
or the opposite side, whichever
is required.)

Place cable in mold and hold
down on mold cover to prevent
from tipping. If welding to
pipe, use 40-0106-37 chain
clamp.

Place end of cable under center of tap hole on CS-5. When welding
to flat cast iron, hold down on mold cover to prevent mold from
tipping. If welding to pipe, use 40-0106-37 chain clamp.
NOTE: When the pipe wall is under 1/2", DO NOT USE a cartridge
larger than a #65CI alloy cartridge.
DO NOT USE type CS-5 or CS-11 on soil pipe (ASTM A-74-82).
A test weld should be made on a section of the pipe being used to
determine the possibility of detrimental metallurgical effects.

opening with packing material when necessary. When
welding to flat steel, hold down
on mold cover to prevent mold
from tipping. If welding to pipe,
use 40-0106-37 chain clamp.
