If you enter your passcode incorrectly three times, the watch locks temporarily. After five incorrect attempts, the watch locks until you reset your passcode in the Garmin Connect app. If you have not paired your watch with your phone, the watch deletes your data and resets to the factory default settings after five incorrect attempts.

Calibrating the Compass Manually NOTICE Calibrate the electronic compass outdoors. To improve heading accuracy, do not stand near objects that influence magnetic fields, such as vehicles, buildings, and overhead power lines. Your watch was already calibrated at the factory, and the watch uses automatic calibration by default. If you experience irregular compass behavior, for example, after moving long distances or after extreme temperature changes, you can manually calibrate the compass.

Syncing the Time Each time you turn on the watch and acquire satellites or open the Garmin Connect app on your paired phone, the watch automatically detects your time zone and the current time of day. You can also manually sync the time when you change time zones, and to update for daylight saving time.
