If the function is defective then the backrest will go back to its original position. When defective always check that the gap between the actuator bracket and seat is 1 mm (0.04 inches) and that the leaf spring is not flattened or damaged in any way.

Tightening torque 9.8 N m (7.2 lb. ft.). 13. Secure the cabling for the actuator in its fixing points. Consider the arrangement of the cables carefully and make sure there is no risk of them getting trapped or otherwise damaged.

    M3 Corpus Repairs - Seat 4.1.12 Leg rest actuator The leg rest actuator exists in two different versions. What sets them apart is the direction of the actuator motor. For standing wheelchair, the actuator motor points forward and for the other wheelchairs, the actuator motor points backwards.
