1 Introduction 1. Introduction Overview EXFO’s Gibraltar® Platform and X-Y Stage (Figure 1-1) provides a rock-solid, fully engineered, flexible mechanical solution for your most sensitive electrophysiology research. The Gibraltar series is designed for maximum stability and precision. Figure 1-1: Gibraltar Platform and X-Y Stage The Gibraltar Platform and X-Y Stage is available for the most popular upright microscopes.
The 5000 Series Manipulators are designed for easy and flexible installation on the Gibraltar platform. Only EXFO’s piezoelectric technology provides you with total control of each pipette position. Your fingertip commands are instantly, precisely and smoothly converted to pipette movements without drift.
Gibraltar (converts “- 1” version to “- 2” version) PCS-500-RP Rotation plate adapter. One provided with each PCS-5000 Series Micromanipulator. Align the holes in the adapter plate with a set of four holes that are closest to your desired microscope location. Use four 1/4-20 x ¾” or M6x1.0 x 25mm screws to secure the adapter plate to the tabletop. (07538-M-00 Rev R) EXFO Photonic Solutions Inc.
Install the adapter plate as shown in Figure 2-3 using four M4x0.7 x 16mm screws.
