Each notch represents the 10% of the battery charge. As the battery becomes discharged, the notches turn off progressively, one after the other, in proportion to the value of the residual battery charge.

This rating specifies the maximum load that should be lifted. However, other factors such as special load handling attachments, load of a high center of gravity, or uneven terrain may dictate that the safe working load be less than the rated capacity.

The forks should be adjusted to fit the load or pallet being handle and spread as wide as possible to provide good stability and balance.
