thoroughly for the correct and optimum use of this
product. Kindly keep this manual in a convenient
place for quick reference.
1 PRODUCT OUTLINE
This is a snap male connector for 0.5mm
and can connect various devices.
It can be connected to 4 channel snap connector
I/O unit SL-VT 4J, 8 channel snap connector I/O
unit SL-T 8J(-PN) or SL-VT 8J and hook-up
connector SL-JK or SL-JK1 (optional.)

It can also be used for cable extension by
combining with a 4-pin type snap female connec-
tor SL-CJ1 or SL-CJ2 (optional.)

2 CAUTIONS
This product has been developed / produced for
industrial use.
Ensure that hook-up is done in the power supply
off condition.
Do not hook-up in a cold environment.
Never reuse a hook-up connector.
Its performance cannot be guaranteed.
Always connect or disconnect the cable attached-
connector by holding the connector. Never pull
the cable, since it may cause a cable break.

SUITABLE CABLE
The product may be connected to a cable given
in the table below. Also, it can be connected to
the S-LINK exclusive flat cable, the S-LINK
exclusive cabtyre cable and VCTF cable. Do not
use other cables.
Please use a cable whose wire insulation is
either vinyl chloride or soft polyethylene.
The stiff cable of which insulation has been
treated with irradiation or bridging cannot be
used.

Note: Use a cable conforming to both the conductor crosssec-
tion area and the cable diameter specifications.
When connecting the cable, beware of the rated current of
the cable.
SL-CP3 The rated current of the S-LINK exclusive flat cable and the
S-LINK exclusive cabtyre cable is 7A.

The rated current of the product differs with the
mating connector as given in the table below.

HOOK-UP PROCEDURE
Prepare the cable to be hooked-up.
<Cabtyre cable>
Strip the cable sheath.
Do not strip the wire insulation.
Wire
30mm or more
<Flat cable>
Make the wire lengths at the end of the flat cable
uniform.
Split the cable end carefully so that the cable
insulation is not damaged.
Do not strip the cable insulation.
30mm or more
Insert the wires into the wire insertion holes of the
connector till the wire tips touch the hole ends.
Do not use the lubricant. It may have an adverse
affect on connector and the cable.

Note: Designation of Terminal Nos. 3 and 4 differs depending upon the device
to be connected to the connector. Please connect correctly after
confirming the terminal arrangement of the device to which it is
connected.
Confirm from the confirmation window, shown in
the figure below, that the wires have been inserted
to a position at which they are visible.

Insert the connector in the guide of the exclusive
hook-up pliers SL-JPE (optional) in the direction
shown in the figure below.
(Do not mistake the connector direction.)

Insert the connector till the end of the guide.
Squeeze the pliers while pushing in the wires so
that they do not come out.

Grip the lever of the exclusive hook-up pliers
strongly and squeeze until it fixates.
Contact failure or wire falling off may happen if
<Bad example>
the grip is not enough.
Confirmation window
Make sure to wire correctly since miswiring can
result in device damage.

Since the snap male connector and the snap female
connector have directionality, ensure to connect
such that the hook and the locking hole engage.
2) Terminal Nos. are marked on each connector.
Confirm that the respective terminal Nos. match
when the connectors are connected.
