SMS and MMS

Before using SMS and MMS

You can send and receive text messages from your phone using SMS (Short Message
Service). If your subscription includes MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service), you can also
send and receive messages that contain media files, for example, pictures and videos. A
single text message may contain up to 160 characters. Longer messages are concatenated
and sent as multiple messages. You are charged for each of the messages sent.

Using SMS and MMS

To create and send a message
1 From the Home screen, tap the applications bar, then tap Messaging.
2 Tap New message.
3 Enter one or more recipient numbers or email addresses.
Enter your message text.

6 Tap Send.
To receive and read a message
1 From the Home screen, tap the applications bar, then tap Messaging.
2 Select a message thread from the list.
3 If the received message is an multimedia message, tap Download if you have not
enabled automatic download.

To delete a message thread

To save a number in a received message to a contact

3 Press , then tap More > Add to Contacts.
4 Tap the contact you want to add the number to, or tap Create new contact.
To save a multimedia message attachment
From the Home screen, tap the applications bar, then tap Messaging.

To change the notification settings for messages
