    Connectors must be fully closed and locked during use. 3M Connectors (snap hooks and carabiners) are designed to be used only as specified in each instruction manual. Ensure connectors are compatible with the system components to which they are connected. Do not use equipment that is noncompatible.

    3.0 Installation 3.1 Overview: Installing a davit system can be a lengthy procedure with multiple steps. Effective planning and awareness of your worksite and your equipment are of great help in making this process move as smoothly as possible. 3.2 Planning: Plan your Fall Protection system before starting your work. Account for all factors that may affect your safety before, during, and after a fall.
  • Page 8 “DO NOT USE”. See Section 5 for more information. 4.4 Material Handling: 3M permits use of this product for material handling as directed. Local regulations or standards may have additional restrictions or may regulate using fall protection equipment for material handling.
  • Page 9 5.3 Defects: If the product cannot be returned to service because of an existing defect or unsafe condition, then the product must be either destroyed or sent to 3M or a 3M-authorized service center for repair. 5.4 Product Life:The functional life of the product is determined by work conditions and maintenance. As long as the product passes inspection criteria, it may remain in service.
