P24HUB Quick Start Guide
1. Introduction
Monitoring and communication are vital for the musicians to feel comfortable performing on stage. Behringer's new P24 monitoring
system is designed to solve common problems for on-stage performers like "I need more me" or "the vocal is too loud" by giving them
direct and easy-to-operate control of their own monitoring mixes. It also allows Talkback communication between musicians on-stage
and engineers.
Each P24HUB can be connected to up to eight P24 units, providing eight individual stereo mixes made from up to 12 stereo or 24 mono
channels each. The P24HUB routes the talkback signals between the console and all the P24 units. It provides analog outputs for the
stereo mixes controlled by each P24 which can then be connected to wireless IEM systems. The P24HUB also supplies each P24 with power
over StageConnect, keeping the number of cables on stage to a minimum.
Multiple P24HUBs can be daisy-chained using AES50, providing independent monitoring mixes controlled by the eight P24s connected to
each hub.

Four StageConnect (SC) ports allow for up to eight P24 units to be connected to the hub. Two P24 units are daisy-chained to each
port on the hub. The LEDs next to each connector show the status of the P24 units: green for properly connected, yellow for a
connection with errors and red for not connected.
The P24 units are labeled with two numbers divided by a point. The first digit corresponds to the StageConnect port number on
the hub and the second digit corresponds to the position of the P24 in the daisy-chain connected to each port. For instance, LED
1.2 shows the status of the second P24 daisy-chained to the first StageConnect port. LED 4.1 shows the status of the first P24 daisy-
chained to the fourth StageConnect port.
2.
When THRU is engaged, all 48 AES50 B upstream channels are sent via the AES50 A upstream, overriding the local 16 channels
coming from up to eight P24 devices connected to the front StageConnect ports.
Hold down the THRU button to rescan the devices connected to the StageConnect Ports.
3.
ANALOG OUT determines which signals are sent to the analog TRS outputs in the rear panel:
• •
P24MIX routes the stereo mix configured by each connected P24 to the corresponding TRS connector pair. These 16 TRS
outputs (8 stereo mixes) are usually connected to the wireless transmitters for IEM monitoring systems.
• •
SOURCE routes the first 16 channels of the digital input signals being fed into the P24HUB via AES50, StageConnect or
ULTRANET to the 16 TRS outputs.
• •
TALKBACK is lit when the TALKBACK REPLACE OUT (10) switch on the rear panel is turned on. See number 10 for details.
4.
The digital signals fed into the P24HUB are determined by the SOURCE SELECT setting.
• •
StageConnect: input channels 1-24 connected to the StageConnect CLIENT/Slave port are routed to all the P24 units connected
to the front panel. Input channels 25 and 26 are used for talkback.
• •
AES50 A CH 25-48: input channels 25-48 connected to the AES50 A port are routed to all the P24 units connected to the front
panel. Input channels 23 and 24 are used for talkback.
• •
AES50 A CH 33-48: input channels 33-48 connected to the AES50 A port are routed to all the P24 units connected to the front
panel. Input channels 23 and 24 are used for talkback.
5.
The POWER switch turns the unit on and off.

The USB type-B connector is used for firmware updates with the SimplyPUT software, available for Windows, MacOS and Linux
on behringer.com.
7.
Two AES50 ports (labelled as SYNC INPUT and THRU) are the first of three source options to choose from. Green LEDs indicate the
connected devices are properly synchronized. If the connected devices are not in sync, red LEDs will light.

8.
Two ULTRANET ports (INPUT and OUTPUT) are the second source option and allow the P24HUB to be integrated into the Behringer
P16 personal monitoring system.
9.
Two StageConnect ports (CLIENT/Slave and HOST/Master) are the third possible source. A green LED will light when the connected
device is properly synchronized.
10. The P24HUB sums incoming talkback signals from connected devices, onto two talkback buses. These buses are sent to specific
StageConnect and AES50 output channels (see section 3 for details). When the TALKBACK REPLACE OUT switch is active, the talkback
buses are routed to the analog TRS outputs 15 and 16, replacing the signals normally routed to these ports (as determined on the
ANALOG OUT section).
11. 16 channels of the selected digital source (StageConnect, AES50 or ULTRANET) or 8 stereo mixes from the connected P24 units
balanced TRS connectors can be routed to the balanced TRS outputs. If the TALKBACK REPLACE OUT switch is enabled, channels 15
and 16 from the selected digital source or the stereo mix coming from the second P24 on SC port 4 (LED 4.2) overridden.
3. Setup examples
The P24HUB is designed to receive multiple channels from a console and distribute them to up to 8 P24s, so that the musicians can control
their own monitoring mix. The connection between the console and the P24HUB can be made via the following:
• •
StageConnect (24 channels)
• •
AES50 (24 or 16 channel mode)
• •
ULTRANET (16 channel)
Multiple hubs can also be daisy-chained to increase the amount of independent monitoring mixes.
3.1 Transferring input channel names and configuration to P24 personal mixers
Channel name information is received by the P24HUB through either AES50 A or StageConnect CLIENT/Slave ports. This channel name
information is then transmitted through the 4 front StageConnect ports; allowing the individual P24 personal mixers to display the
channel information and configure its 12 channels to mono, stereo or dual mono respectively. Please refer to the P24 Quick Start Guide for
detailed instructions
