- Carefully unpack and inspect your tool. Familiarise yourself with all its features and functions.
- Ensure that all parts of the tool are present and in good condition. If any parts are missing or damaged, have such parts replaced before attempting to use this tool.
Operation
![]()
ALWAYS wear eye protection, adequate respiratory protection and suitable gloves, when working with this appliance.
![]()
This tool must be placed on a stand when not in use.
![]()
Handle the heated soldering iron with extreme care, as the high temperature of the iron can cause fires or painful burns.
Note: The soldering iron tip may emit smoke for a short while on first use. This is normal and is the protective coating burning off the element. It is advisable to do this in a well-ventilated area before regular use.
![]()
Never file the specially plated tip.

When removing the Lid (6), ensure the collet stays on the tool and fully secures the Soldering Tip (1). Do not twist to remove the Lid, which may unscrew the collet. Remove the Lid by pulling gently.
- Check that the Soldering Tip is securely fitted before switching on. The Soldering Tip should be pushed into the Tip Holder (2).
- Attach the USB Cable (5) to the base of the soldering iron and then plug the other end into a compatible power source.
- Wait approximately 30 seconds then slightly touch the Metal Point Button (3) to heat up the soldering iron, which will illuminate the Red LED (4), and the job can be started.
- Hold the Soldering Tip against the wire or component to be soldered. Once hot, add solder to the joint then remove soldering iron.
- After about 25 seconds the soldering iron may switch off into sleep mode automatically, if this happens simply touch the Metal Point Button again to start the soldering iron again.
- Do not allow the heating element or soldering tip to rest on any surface that may be damaged by heat.
- Do not apply to the same place for a long time. A longer contact time risks causing damage to the workpiece. Forming a good joint should take no longer than 5 seconds.
Maintenance
![]()
ALWAYS disconnect from the power supply before carrying out any inspection, maintenance or cleaning.
Note: If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
Cleaning
![]()
Allow the soldering iron to cool to reduce risk of burns.
- Keep your tool clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal parts to wear quickly, and shorten the tool's service life. Clean the body of your tool with a soft brush, or dry cloth.
- Clean the tool casing with a soft damp cloth using a mild detergent. Do not use alcohol, petrol or strong cleaning agents.
- Never use caustic agents to clean plastic parts.
Storage
- Store this tool in a secure, dry location out of the reach of children.
Safety Warnings
![]()
Do not hang the soldering iron vertically during use. This will cause heat to rise, which could make the handle too hot to touch and in extreme circumstances soften or melt the handle. Allowing the iron to hang down will also place additional strain on the power cable mounting.
![]()
Use soldering irons safely. Use promptly when the soldering iron has reached the required temperature and switch off immediately after use.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
- Soldering tools become extremely hot during use. Do not touch any part of the tool other than the handle. DO NOT leave a hot soldering iron unattended.
- Switch off and allow the tool to cool completely before attempting to change any fittings.
- Keeping the soldering iron tip raised when hot between uses can help reduce transfer of heat to the handle.
- Heat may be conducted to hidden areas or materials near to the work area. Ensure that the worksurface is not flammable and that there are no flammable materials in the vicinity of the work area.
- Residual heat may cause waste material to ignite, even after the tool has been disconnected from the power supply.
- Never use this tool near any kind of fuel tank or gas cylinder.
- Do not use in the presence of an explosive atmosphere.
- Soldering with certain materials may result in toxic fumes. Always allow adequate ventilation. Do not use in confined spaces.
- Some types of solder may contain high proportions of lead. Molten lead emits toxic fumes: always wear good-quality appropriate breathing protection.
- Lead fumes are especially toxic to children, pregnant women and people with high blood pressure. People at high risk should not be allowed near to the work area without suitable respiratory equipment.
- Basic soldering irons have limited or no thermal regulation. When soldering sensitive electronic components, use a temperature-controlled soldering iron to prevent damage and provide a safer, more regulated lower temperature.
- Always dispose of waste material responsibly.
- Allow the tool to cool down before storage.
