Unplug the machine from the electricity
supply before making any adjustments.
To change the bit (Fig. 1), block the motor shaft using
key A, loosen the nut using key B and remove the bit.
Insert the new bit as far as it will go in its housing and
tighten it using the service keys.
Check that the chuck collet diameter
matches the bit stem.
5. FITTINGS LAYOUT
Once it has been decided where the hinges are to be
placed on the frame or door, make the four marks
shown in (Fig. 3).
A template can also be used. This will enable you to make
the positioning marks for the three hinges, either on the
door or on the frame, in a single operation.
6. ADJUSTMENTS
Unplug the machine from the electricity
supply before making any adjustments.
6.1 DEPTH ADJUSTMENT
Loosen nut "C" and, pressing the fitting against base "E"
of the head, level the tool with the fitting using rule
"D", blocking the head once again with nut "C" (Fig. 2).
6.2 ADJUSTMENT FOR DOOR
1. Measure the hinge width as shown in (Fig. 4).
2. Loosen knobs "F" and "G" of the head as shown in (Fig. 6).
3. Place the millimetre gauge against square "I", place
the point of the bit at the measurement taken in step
1 (Fig. 5).
4. Always be very careful to ensure that sliding rods "H"
meet square "I", and then block knobs "F".
5. If you wish to work with the machine in a fixed posi-
tion, block knobs "G".
Once the head has been adjusted, it will meet square
"I" as shown in (Fig. 6). Now fit the hinge and remove
the machine sideways.
6.3 ADJUSTMENT FOR FRAME
For a 35-mm groove, the head will be automatically
adjusted when the door is adjusted. To work, make a stop
on the face of base "E" (Fig. 7) to obtain the clearance
needed between door and frame.
For a 45-mm groove, make stops also on square "I"
and on the door. Correct using the millimetre gauge to
8
provide the necessary clearance.
7. STARTING AND STOPPING THE MACHINE
To start the machine, press button R forward (Fig. 10)
to the "on" position. To stop the machine, simply press
the back of the switch and it will return to the "off"
position.
8. MAINTENANCE OF
BRUSHES AND COLLECTOR
Disconnect the machine from the elec-
tricity supply before making any ad-
justments.
Remove screws "J" (Fig. 8) that fasten the side covers
"K" and detach both.
Remove the brush-holder "M" (Fig. 9) with small
screwdriver "L", using one of the brush-holder side
tabs to lever it out.
Push back the end of spring "N". Keep it in this position
to extract the brush and replace it with a new genuine
Virutex brush.
Reinsert the brush-holder, ensuring that it is firmly
positioned in the casing and that each of the brushes
exerts a small amount of pressure on the collector.
Re-attach the covers "K" with the corresponding
screws, making sure that no wires get caught in the
process.
It is advisable to leave the machine running for 15 mi-
nutes once the brushes have been changed.
If the collector burns or juts out, it should be serviced
by a Virutex service technician.
Always keep the lead and plug in good working con-
dition.
