KVO: "Keep Vein Open" - it is a slow infusion of fluid
that keeps a vein open for future infusions.
Slide clamp: A small, white plastic piece on the administration
set that allows or prevents fluid flow.
Flow-stop: The yellow-colored plastic piece on the administration
set that prevents unintentional fluid flow.
Luer connector: The small connector at the end of the
administration set tubing (image shown to the left).
COLORS
are used to quickly indicate
status and alarm information on the
screen, making it easy to see the
pump status from across the room
Green: pump is running, all is good
Yellow: pump is paused
Red: high priority alarm, action is required
Blue: infusion has ended
Aqua: pump is priming
Orange: medium priority alarm, action is required
HOME SCREEN
The
overview of the infusion status. The
home screen for each therapy mode is
designed to provide the most relevant
information for that therapy.
1. Infusion status (infusing, paused,
or infusion complete)
2. Therapy information such as drug
name and units / concentration
3. Current program status (rate,
remaining amount, and time)
4. Soft key labels
5. Keypad lock status (locked or unlocked)
6. Battery / AC power status
7. Current pump time
8. Therapy mode, may also include protocol name
9. Infusion progress meter
HELP SCREENS
are available for alarms and
most programming screens. Press the HELP
key for more information associated with
an alarm or any pump-related questions.
