  • Page 4 Replacement: spark plugs – FIAT Strada Pickup (178_). Tip from AUTODOC: The replacement procedure is the same for all spark plugs. All work should be done with the engine stopped. REPLACEMENT: SPARK PLUGS – FIAT STRADA PICKUP (178_). TAKE THE FOLLOWING STEPS: Open the hood.
  • Page 5 Remove the air filter housing. Cover the throttle body with a microfibre towel to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the system. Detach the crankcase ventilation hose from the engine cover at the left. Use a crowbar. Detach the throttle valve connectors. Use a crowbar. Remove the spark plug wire connectors from the spark plug wells.

Clean dirt, dust and debris from inside the spark plug wells. Unscrew the spark plugs. Use the spark plug socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench.

Professionals recommend: Don't tighten the plugs with excessive force. Exceeding tightening torque can damage the thread connection.

Install the drive shaft into the wheel hub. Tighten the lower fasteners connecting the shock strut to the steering knuckle. Use a combination spanner #17. Use a drive socket #17.

Clean the oil filter housing cap. Use all-purpose cleaning spray. Remove the oil filter cover O-ring. Use a flat screwdriver. Install a new O-ring to its mounting seat on the filter cover.
  • Page 33 Install the new oil filter to the mounting seat on the filter cover. Please note! Make sure to install the filter correctly. Don't mix up the sides of the part. Wait until the oil has completely drained from the drainage hole. Clean the area of the oil pan drainage hole.

Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench. Lower the car. Remove the microfibre towel from the oil filter housing. Lubricate the rubber seal of the new filter with a little amount of fresh oil.

  • Page 36 Check the oil level using the dipstick. Top up oil if necessary. Please note! The oil level should be between the Min and Max marks. Tighten the oil filler cap. Run the engine for a few minutes. After the oil pressure warning light goes out, stop the engine. Check the oil level 5 minutes after the stop of the engine operation using a dipstick and add oil if necessary.
