Quick Start Guide
XKID Extended Intake
Parts List
• (1) Fan
• (1) Fan curb/equipment
supports (optional)
• Ductwork (supplied by others)
• Sealant (supplied by others)
• 5/16-inch fasteners or self-
tapping sheet metal screws
(supplied by others)
Tools List
• Impact driver
• 1/2-inch nut setter
• 5/16-inch nut setter
• C-clamp locking pliers
• The extension of the intake
is a user modification and is
not supplied by Accurex. This
modification may be necessary
in certain field conditions where
additional distance is required
between the supply and
exhaust fans
• NOTICE: This guide provides
general instructions for installing
an intake extension. The installer
assumes full responsibility for
ensuring the modification is
completed correctly and in
accordance with local building
codes and regulations. Accurex
is not liable for any issues arising
from the use or installation of
non-supplied components

• NOTICE: Installing extended intake will change fan
performance and void AMCA Air, Sound and FEI
certification
• This Quick Start Guide does not replace the
Installation Operation Manual (IOM). Refer to
the IOM for more information
Ductwork
(supplied by
Intake others)
Hood
Step 1 – Mount Fan in Place
• Disconnect, lock and tag power source
• Place the fan in the desired location and mount to the
curb or equipment supports per the IOM
Step 2 – Uninstall Outdoor Cover Top Panel(s)
• TAKE CARE NOT TO DAMAGE THE FOAM TAPE ON
THESE PARTS
• Uninstall the top panel of the
outdoor cover by removing
the sheet metal screws
holding it in place

Horizontal intake shown, bottom intake
Step 3 – Uninstall Side Panels
• Uninstall the side panels by removing the sheet metal
screws holding them in place
Fan
Step 4 – Uninstall the Inlet Side End Cap
• TAKE CARE NOT TO DAMAGE THE FOAM TAPE ON
THESE PARTS
• Uninstall any conduit and wiring running
through the inlet side end cap
• Uninstall the inlet side
end cap by removing
the sheet metal

Step 5 – Uninstall Intake Hood

hood from the fan
by removing the
