Introduction to FiiO El 7-DAC Headphone Amplifier

1. MINI USB interface: connect with USB and charging.
2. Dock connector: Specialized dock for E9&L7.
3. AUX input: External analog audio signal input
4. LO BYPASS: DOCK Line Out sound switch
   ( only valid when connecting with DOCK)
5. Coaxial/Optical input: Receive PCM digital audio signal
6. Headphone output jack: Suitable for headphone with 3.5mm stereo plug.
7. OLED screen: Demonstrate kinds of information of working and settings
8. ®Power/Exit: Short press to turn on, long press for 3nds to turn off. When in system menu, press to exit from current menu and return to previous one.
   LED screen: Blue indicates startup, red indicates charging, blue & red indicates startup and charging simultaneously.
9. ®Up/ Volume "+": For increasing the volume or selecting the previous/upper item within the system menu.
10. Down / Volume "-": For decreasing the volume or selecting the next/lower item within the system menu.
11. Menu: Press for entering the system menu, press again for entering the sub-menu item or confirming the current selection.
12. INPUT: kinds of work modes can switch repeatedly. (USB/COAXIAL/OPTICAL/AUX)
13. Locking key: press down is HOLD, locking other keys and screen turns on/off at the same time.

   1. Displayed sampling rate and accuracy is for reference which will be different with different settings of players.
   2. 44.1k and 48k will both display 48k; 88.2k and 96k both display 96k
   3. Default value is 24bit when sampling rate is 96k and 192k, others are 16bit.

		Run Time	Time of system operations account from the first application, it will restart from zero after reset button is pressed, reloading default setting, or when the battery depleted.

USB CHG will be"ON"automatically when turning off in low power or pushing RESET.
Sleep will be set "OFF" automatically, when E17 Power off each time

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Important matters:

• Do not try to repair, disassemble by your own or put it in a place with some water.
• Periodically recharging is required to maintain a healthy battery life even when the device is not in use.
• When enjoying the music please choose a comfortable volume for fear of hurting your hearing and audio system. Please turn volume down before inserting headphone and do not use it for a long time.
• When inserting DOCK or E9, we advise you do it in the condition of power off.

Not working or Malfunction:

• E17 battery might need to be recharged.
• With no sound output or distortion, please check whether the audio source and music file is damaged or not, Please check whether INPUT has been chosen correct audio input or not.
• USB cannot decode: please check whether audio output device of player or control panel is "FiiO USB DAC-E17"or not.
• Signal input and headphone output dock may connect not so strongly, please connect it again.
• Please use original or suitable audio cables and make sure for normal output.

Please pay attention when connecting with DOCK:

1. When E17 connect with DOCK, it will switch to USB input automatically, if you want to switch to other COX/OPT mode, please push INPUT and select again,
2. Push down is LO BYPASS: output of LO will not change with adjustment of volume, treble, bass and gain
3. Push up is sound effect mode: output of LO will change with adjustment of volume, treble, bass and gain.
4. lnsert DOCK, GAIN cannot be adjusted to 12dB.

OPERATIONS AND FUNCTIONS

Windows:

Mac os: System preferences-Sound-Output select "FiiO USB DAC-E17"

2. E17 AUX IN-- headphone amplifier output
   Power on
   (short press"power")
   
   connect line-in audio source to AUX jack
   Using 3.5mm matched audio cable
   
   press INPUT then select AUX, adjust to comfortable volume
   (advise you adjust volume below20; operation steps please refer to step4)
   
   connect to headphone
   ( 3.5MM headphone jack at the top )
3. E17 coaxial/optical input--connect DVD or blue -ray players
   Power on
   (short press "power ")
   
   Connect E17 to digital player
   ( using matched adaptor )
   
   Press INPUT and select COX/OPT, adjust to comfortable volume
   ( advise you adjust volume below20; operation steps please refer to step4 )
   
   Connect to headphone
   ( 3.5MM headphone jack at the top )
4. E17 SETTING--TREBLE, BASS, BALANCE, GAIN, USB CHARGE, SLEEP, VOLUME
   Power on
   (short press "power ")
   
   MENU
   (short press)
   
   Choose the menu
   (using"+" ' -"button)
   
   Return/Exit
   (short press "EXIT")

Charging and instructions:
E17 which needs about 200minutes to be fully charged (power down via computer USB port). Total runtime is about to be 15 hours with being fully charged.(under laboratory testing environment, for reference only)

Working condition and charging indication:
