Text entry

This section describes how you enter text (letters, numbers and symbols) in the SMS mode. The same method of text entry can be used in
phonebook editing.

Writing messages

With the standby screen displayed, press

during message creation, the Edit menu will be displayed (see Fig. 1), then you could choose the text entry methods.

Your phone incorporates T9
Text Input, enabling fast, easy and intuitive text input. For each letter to be keyed in, you only need to press the
number key once. The screen will display the word you may require based on the internal English dictionary of mobile phone.
When Fig.1 is displayed, press 1 for T9
i) For example, to enter "good", press 4, 6, 6, 3, then press 0
to complete the word. For other functions, see table right.
ii) To enter "Peter is good":
Press
to shift to upper case (for one letter), you will see a
green arrow next to the T9 symbol.
Press 7, 3, 8, 3 and 7 to display "Peter", then press 0 to
confirm and continue other input.
Press 4 and 7 to display "is", then press 0 to confirm and
continue other input.
3, 1 and 4. The message entry screen will be displayed.

Press 1 for T9
English input.
Press 2 for normal text input (ABC).
Press 3 for numeric input.
Press 4 for Insert object (see table right).
It is available only in the message entry screen.
Press 5 to open the options menu.

To complete a word and insert a space.
To display other matching words (such as home,
gone, hood and etc.).
To place the cursor to the right of the incorrect
character and correct it.
To delete any particular letter.
To toggle between lower case, shift (upper case for
one letter) and caps lock (permanent upper case).
To activate symbol mode when no word is
highlighted.
Not applicable to text entry in the
e-moción.

displayed only in the message entry
screen. If you are in other than the
message entry screen, the number
