1. Measurement of Current Consumption
1 .
Make the connections as show n in the figu re, then start the u nit in the
Test Mode.
(Connect the OUTPUT and INPUT jacks u sing a 1/ 4-inch p hone cable.)

Verify that cu rrent consu m p tion is 35 mA or less.
2. Volume and AD/DA Test
1 .
Make the connections as show n in the figu re, then start the u nit in the
Test Mode.
(Connect the OUTPUT and INPUT jacks u sing a 1/ 4-inch p hone cable.)

Tu rn the LEVEL control all the w ay clockw ise.
3 .
Tu rn the BASS control to near the nine o'clock p osition, and verify that
the CHECK LED lights u p .
4 .
Tu rn the BASS control to near the eleven o'clock p osition, and verify that
the CHECK LED goes d ark.
5 .
Tu rn the BASS control to near the one o'clock p osition, and verify that
the CHECK LED lights u p .
6 .
Tu rn the BASS control all the w ay clockw ise, and verify that the CHECK
LED goes d ark.
7 .
Carry out steps 3 through 6 for the TREBLE and SOUND controls as w ell.
Tu rning the SOUND control all the w ay clockw ise cau ses the AD/ DA
test to be execu ted au tom atically. The CHECK LED lights u p stead ily if
the test resu lts are OK, or flashes if the resu lts are not OK.
8 .
Tu rn the LEVEL control cou nterclockw ise a short d istance, and verify
that the CHECK LED goes d ark.
9 .
Tu rn the LEVEL control to near the tw elve o'clock p osition, and verify
that the CHECK LED lights u p .
1 0 . Tu rn the LEVEL control fu rther cou nterclockw ise from near the tw elve
o'clock p osition, and verify that the CHECK LED goes d ark.
1 1 . Tu rn the LEVEL control cou nterclockw ise all the w ay, and verify that the
CHECK LED lights u p .
1 2 . Dep ress the p ed al, and verify that the CHECK LED goes d ark.
3. Analog Volume Test
1 .
Make the connections as show n in the figu re below , then start the u nit in
the normal usage state.

Tu rn all controls clockw ise all the w ay.
3 .
Dep ress the p ed al to m ake the CHECK LED light u p .
The effect is sw itched on.
4 .
From the signal generator, inp u t a 100-Hz sine wave at -30 dBm.
5 .
Slow ly tu rn the LEVEL control cou nterclockw ise all the w ay, and verify
that no static noise is p rod u ced .
4. Noise Test
1 .
Make the connections as show n in the figu re below , then start the u nit in
the normal usage state.

2 .
Tu rn all controls clockw ise all the w ay.
3 .
Connect the am p -equ ip p ed m onitor sp eaker to the OUTPUT jack.
4 .
Dep ress the p ed al several tim es, and verify that no sw itching noise occu rs
and that no w ires are p inched betw een the sw itch and the p ed al.
5 .
Dep ress the p ed al to m ake the CHECK LED light u p .
The effect is sw itched on.
6 .
Su bject the u nit to im p act (by d rop p ing it from a height of abou t 5 cm ),
and verify that no abnorm al noise is heard from the sp eaker.
7 .
Connect the noise m eter to the OUTPUT jack.
8 .
Verify that resid u al noise is -45 dBm or low er (DIN au d io) or -45 dBm
(JIS A).
9 .
Dep ress the p ed al to m ake the CHECK LED go d ark.
The effect is sw itched off.
1 0 . Verify that resid u al noise is -100 dBm or low er (DIN au d io) or -102 dBm
(JIS A).
