Introduction This Assembly and installation document provides information regarding the installation procedures for Symbliss bath. Please read through the complete document prior to installing the product. This will facilitate the installation procedure and give the correct and optimal working conditions for everyone involved.

Safety instructions Before the work is started CAUTION It is recommended that assembly and installation of the Symbliss bath is conducted by Arjo installations steps. If the installation is to be conducted by non-approved technicians, any errors in the installation and assembly that damage the bathtub may invalidate the Arjo warranty provided with this bathtub on purchase.

Space requirements Space requirements around the bathtub To give the best working conditions for the caregiver and the patient, install Symbliss bathtub according to the recommended space requirements. If the width of the doorway is less than 900 mm, the bathtub needs to be disassembled, see How to disassemble and assemble the bathtub on page 23.

Space requirements transport If the doorway width (elevator, bathroom door, other) is less than 900 mm, the bathtub needs to be disassembled. For required corridor width see below. 5. Secure the curtain: Roll down the curtain to give it some slack. Hold the curtain and unhook the rod, behind the inner cover. See Figure 6. Roll up the curtain by hand, keep the tension all the way. Figure 6 Just before the top, slide the rod sideways to lock the curtain against the bracket.

7. Lower the bathtub and make sure that the centre beam lands into the installation trolley. See Figure 10. For the US/CA bathtub: Make sure the drain hose is not squeezed when lowering the bathtub. 8. Lower the bathtub to the lowest position to raise the feet completely from the pallet.

13. Manoeuvre the bathtub down from the pallet. Keep the bathtub horizontal all the way down to 14. Check doorway and corridor width so that it is possible to transport the bathtub to the installation site. See Space requirements transport on page 15.

If the doorway width is less than 900 mm or the corridor width is to narrow, the bath needs to be disassembled. Arjo recommends a minimum of two persons for this activity, one installer and one service technician or two service technicians.

Assemble the bathtub (46 steps) 1. Position the chassis at the installation site, in accordance with water connections and drain. Make sure the bathtub is positioned so the labels are visible. 2. To have the cables out of the way, position the cables on the right side over the mixer.

Doorway width equal to 900 mm To ease the transfer through a doorway equal to 900 mm, the bathtub width can be slightly narrowed. To enable the turning radius, following corridor widths are required: Standard bathtub: 1.8 m (71 in) Long bathtub: 2 m (79 in) Narrow the bathtub 1.

Removal of covers Preparations CAUTION Use caution to avoid scratching the covers when using a power tool to remove the screws. 1. Make sure the bathtub is slightly raised from bottom. 2. Strap the disinfection hatch open to avoid scratching the inner covers, if equipped. See Figure 97.

Adjust the feet In order to achieve a levelled bathtub, adjust the height of the bathtub feet. 1. Place the bathtub in the correct position according to all requirements. Make sure there is a minimum of 150 mm (6 in) between the foot end and the wall.

Guidance for correct installation of water hose IMPORTANT The water hoses must be installed within sight. They must not be walled up, installed in narrow tunnels or in places where they cannot be reached and inspected. The water hoses must not be insulated or covered with insulating material. IMPORTANT Do not install water hoses in tension or in torsion.

Calibration of settings Calibration of mixer (temperature control) (59 steps) 1. Connect the Service tool. 2. Open the Mixer Calibration tab in the Service tool. 3.
