To zoom in or reduce the size of prints on the Kyocera FS-1018MFP printer, use the DP magnification adjustment:
1. Enter maintenance mode. 2. Enter code "070" using the Original Copy up/down cursor keys. 3. Press the Enter key. 4. Press the system menu/counter key, then press Enter to store the new setting. 5. Place an original on the DP and make a test copy. 6. To increase image size, use the right cursor key (increases magnification). 7. To reduce image size, use the left cursor key (decreases magnification). 8. The setting range is –25 to +25, and each step changes magnification by 0.1%. 9. Press the back key to exit maintenance mode.

CAUTIONS • Place the process unit on a clean, level surface. • Never expose the process unit to any sort of impact or shock. • The drum in the process unit is sensitive to light. Never expose the drum even to normal office lighting (500 lux) for more than five minutes.

(3-2) Drum surface potential The laser beam is continually switched on and off depending on the print data. It is on for a black (exposed) dot and off for a white (blank) dot. (4) Development The latent image constituted on the drum is developed into a visible image. The developing roller A contains a 3-pole (S-N-S) magnet core B and an aluminum cylinder rotating around the magnet core B. (5) Transfer The image developed by toner on the drum A is transferred onto the paper because of the electrical attraction between the toner itself and the transfer roller B.
