Lock functions

  • Open and close the lock
  • Change numerical code

Input

  • The code can consist of a 1-8 digit numeric code
  • A maximum of 10 seconds may elapse between each entry, otherwise the entry is reset and you must start again.
  • When changing or checking the numerical code, the door must always be open and the locking bolts must be extended!

Incorrect entry
Incorrect entry

  • If the entry is incorrect, press the * key twice or wait 10 seconds and start your entry again.
  • If you make three incorrect entries, the lock is blocked for 45 seconds. A multiple beep sounds and the yellow LED lights up.

Initial commissioning

  1. Insert the four AA batteries into the battery box. Make sure that the polarity of the batteries in the battery box is correct.
  2. Insert the plug of the battery box into the socket at the bottom of the keypad.
  3. Open the lock with the factory code 1234 and then confirm with the # key.
Turn the door handle clockwise to the right within 5 seconds and open the door.
  4. Unplug the battery box from the keypad and remove the batteries from the battery box.
  5. Now open the battery compartment on the inside of the door and insert the four batteries into the battery compartment. Make sure that the polarity of the batteries is correct.
Then close the battery compartment again.
  6. Your cabinet is now ready for use. Now change the factory code to your private numerical code. Proceed as described in section „Changing the numerical code".

Inserting the shelf

The cabinet is equipped with an adjustable shelf. The shelf rests on four shelf supports. To insert the shelf, the four shelf supports must be hooked into the nothces on the side wall.

The short leg of the shelf support must be pushed into the side wall notch.
The shelf is then placed on the long leg of the shelf supports.

Operating instructions for the electronic lock

Opening the door
Enter the numerical code (1 - 8 digits) and then confirm with the # key. Turn the door handle clockwise to the right within 5 seconds and open the door. If the code is entered correctly, the yellow LED flashes and a double beep is heard, then the green LED lights up.

Closing the door
Push the door firmly closed and turn the door handle anticlockwise to the left. The lock locks automatically. Check with the door handle that the lock is properly locked. It must not be possible to turn the door handle when it is locked.

Changing the numerical code

  • When changing or checking the numerical code, the door must always be open and the locking bolts must be extended!
  • Press the green reset button on the bottom of the door (Fig. 2). You will hear two beeps and the yellow LED will light up.
  • Enter your new 1-8 digit numerical code and confirm by pressing the * key. You will hear two beeps and the yellow LED will go out.
  • With the door open, check whether the new numerical code works!
Do not close the door until you are sure that the new numerical code works properly.

Battery status

  • Batteries are okay: When the entry code is entered, the green LED on the keypad lights up.
  • Batteries low: When the entry code is entered, the yellow LED on the keypad lights up. Replace the four batteries immediately.
If the batteries are already so low that the door can no longer be opened, you can use the battery box to open the door in an emergency. Proceed as described in 3.2 „Initial commissioning" (use valid code).

Changing batteries
The four AA batteries are located in the battery compartment on the inside of the door.
Open the door and remove the cover of the battery compartment (Figure 3).
When inserting the new batteries, make sure the polarity is correct in the battery compartment. After inserting the batteries, replace the cover. Then, with the door open, check that the lock is working properly.

ANCHORING

As standard, the document protection safe is provided with an anchoring hole in the floor and in the rear wall. Both anchoring holes are closed with a plastic plug as standard. Before anchoring, the plugs must be removed from the holes. If the supplied anchoring material cannot be used due to the nature of the substrate, the anchoring material must be adapted to the condition of the substrate. The cabinet achieves its optimal protective function only once it has been attached to a solid part of a building. Please use only the provided anchorage holes to make the necessary fixed connection.

Before anchoring, make absolutely sure that the substrate is suitable for the fixing material supplied and that there are no cables, lines, pipes or similar in the drilling area.

Anchoring method

Place the cabinet at the intended location and align it so it is level. The cabinet door must remain in position and must not move automatically. Mark the drilling position in the area to be anchored through the anchoring hole in the cabinet. Remove the cabinet again and drill the anchoring hole in the substrate with a drill bit suitable for the anchoring material. Now clean the drillhole (suck out drilling dust) and insert the plug into the drill hole. Put the document protection safe back in its final position and screw it down until the screw head is tight against the fastening sleeve inside the cabinet.

MAINTENANCE AND SERVICE

The bolt mechanism and the lock are maintenance-free.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Notes on cabinet operation

  • The cabinet must be secured against tilting. We recommend that you always anchor the cabinet.
  • When closing the cabinet door, make absolutely sure that there are no limbs between the cabinet door and the body. Otherwise there is a risk of crushing of trapped limbs.
  • Before closing the cabinet door, make sure that the locking bolts are retracted. Extended latch bolts bump against the cabinet body when the door is closed, causing the locking mechanism to become damaged and malfunction.
  • Keep the numerical code for the electronic lock in a safe place outside the cabinet! Change the factory code (1234) to a private numerical code, but do not use personal or simple number combinations!
