Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the product.
Before using the product, read through this user manual to ensure that you will use the product correctly. Also, keep this manual handy for easy reference when needed.
The product uses proprietary active noise-cancelling technology to provide a comfortable listening environment in areas with high ambient noise. The product features a miniature microphone in each earpiece that pick up ambient noise (such as traffic, air-handling systems, etc.) and create a sound-cancelling signal to effectively block the noise.

  • The noise-cancelling function of the product mainly operates to reduce noise at 300 Hz or lower, which means it has almost no effect on noise that is above this frequency (such as telephone ringtones and voices).
  • The noise-cancelling function may have limited effect when used in quiet locations or when used to cancel certain types of noise.

    • Playback sound can be easily heard outside to ensure the quality performance of the product. On public transport systems or in other public places, keep the volume low so as not to disturb other people.

Using the headphones cable for smartphones

Playback/pause for music/movies
Answering/ending calls
Press the control button once.

* Some smartphones do not support playback and pause functionality for music/movie files.
* Audio-Technica does not provide support for how to use smartphones.

Cleaning

Get into the habit of regularly cleaning your headphones to ensure that they will last for a long time. Do not use alcohol, paint thinners or other solvents for cleaning purposes.

  • Wipe the main unit with a dry cloth to clean the headphones/remote control with microphone.
  • Wipe your cables with a dry cloth after use if there is sweat or other dirt present. Using an unclean cable continuously will deteriorate and harden the cable, resulting in product malfunction.
  • Wipe your plugs on cables with a dry cloth if dirty. Using the plug without cleaning it can cause sound skipping or distortion.
  • To clean the earpads and headband, wipe with a dry cloth. Earpads and headband may fade if sweat or water dries on them. If the earpads and headband get wet, we recommend wiping them with a dry cloth and allowing them to dry in the shade.
  • For long-time storage, keep the product in a well-ventilated place free from high temperatures and humidity.
  • Earpads will deteriorate over time due to use and storage. Replace when necessary. For information about replacing earpads or other parts, or for information about other serviceable parts, contact your Audio-Technica dealer.

Ambient noise is not reduced.
  • Make sure the indicator is on. Charge the battery if the indicator does not light when the power/ANC switch is on.
  • Adjust headphones' position. Headphones may be incorrectly positioned on ears.
  • Ambient noise may be out of synchronization with noisecancelling frequency.
The product produces rumbling noise.
  • Connecting to some devices such as portable audio players equipped with a digital amplifier can cause noise.
  • Using the product in a car, bus, etc. may cause noise depending on the road condition.
Howling sound is caused.
  • Adjust headphones' position. Headphones may be incorrectly positioned on ears.
  • Do not touch the opening part in the housing. Touching or covering the opening part can cause howling sound.
Sound has become distorted.
  • Turn down the volume of audio/video equipment.
  • Charge the product.
Sound buzzes and flutters.
  • The product may pick up noise from mobile phones or equipment related to computers nearby. Keep the noisecausing equipment away from the product.
The product cannot be charged.

  • To protect the built-in rechargeable battery, charge it at least once every half year. If you leave it too long, you will have less rechargeable battery life or the battery may not recharge at all.
  • Because this product's design is optimized to provide stable noise-cancelling performance, its structure does not allow for replacement of the built-in rechargeable battery after purchase. The battery may have reached the end of its service life if the usage time becomes shorter even though the battery is fully charged, or if charging is still not complete after more than 4 hours of continuous charging. In this case, contact your local Audio-Technica dealer.
