Ensure a safe working environment

The replacement of the IO-board could be done on site.

  • Switch the PS2 controller off
  • Open the PV-disconnect box
  • Disconnect the PV power from pump system
dangerMake sure that the system remains disconnected during the whole replacement

Replacing the IO Board

dangerAlways make sure to protect the electronic components from damage caused by electrostatic discharge (ESD)! We recommend wearing an ESD protection wristband during handling of electronic components.

Remove the PS2 cover & check input voltage

  • Use the PH2 screwdriver to unscrew the screws which fixate the PS2 cover
  • Remove the PS2 cover
  • Check whether the input-voltage is 0V to confirm that the power is disconnected
dangerWait approx. 2 minutes to discharge the capacitors

Remove the IO board

  • Remove both ribbon cables
dangerDo not pull the ribbon cables, only the plug
  • Squeeze each retaining collar together to lift the IO-board up

Remove the IO board - Step 1
  • Remove the IO-board
  • Remove the long ribbon cable
dangerDo not pull the ribbon cables, only the plug
  • Squeeze both retaining collars together to lift the LED-board up
  • Removing the ribbon cable of the LED- board is not necessary
Remove the IO board - Step 2
  • Remove the ribbon cable as well
dangerDo not pull the ribbon cables, only the plug
Remove the IO board - Step 3

Reassemble the controller

  • Install the short new ribbon cable
  • Secure that the ribbon cable is installed properly (completely inside the PCB-socket)
  • Push in the LED-board
  • Install the second longer new ribbon cable on the power board
  • Secure that the ribbon cable is installed properly (completely inside the PCB-socket)
  • Bend the ribbon cable to the left hand side, between the capacitor and the terminal clamps
  • Push in the new IO-board
  • Push in both new ribbon cables into the PCB-sockets
  • Secure that the ribbon cables are installed properly (completely inside the PCB-sockets)
  • Close the PS2 cover
  • Fasten the screw with min. 2Nm
  • Connect the PV-generator with the PS2-controller
  • Switch the PS2-controller on to test the LED-board

Safety instruction

READ AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS! RETAIN THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR FUTURE USE!

  • Personnel qualification and training – All personnel must be fully qualified to perform that type of job. Responsibility, competence and the supervision of such personnel must be strictly regulated by the user. Should the available personnel be lacking the necessary qualification, they must be trained and instructed accordingly. The operator/user must make sure that the personnel fully understands the contents of the guide.
  • Dangers of ignoring the safety symbols – Ignoring the safety directions and symbols may pose a danger to humans as well as to the equipment itself. Nonobservance may void any warranties. Nonobservance of safety directions and symbols may for example entail the following: Failure of important functions of the equipment/plant; failure of prescribed methods for maintenance and repair; endangerment of persons through electrical, mechanical and chemical effects; danger to the environment because of leakage of hazardous material; danger of damage to equipment and buildings.
  • Safety-oriented operation – The safety directions contained in the guide, existing national regulations for the prevention of accidents as well as internal guidelines and safetyregulations for the operator and user must be observed at all times.
  • Safety directions for maintenance, inspection and assembly work – It is the user's responsibility to make sure that all maintenance, inspection and assembly work is performed exclusively by authorized and qualified experts sufficiently informed through careful perusal of the operating instructions. The accident prevention regulations must be observed. All work on the equipment should be done when it is not operational and ideally electrically isolated. The sequence for shutting the equipment down is described in the manual and must be strictly observed.
  • Unauthorized changes and manufacturing of spare parts – Any conversion or changes of the equipment may only be undertaken after consulting the manufacturer. Original spare parts and accessories authorized by the manufacturer guarantee operational safety. Using nonauthorized parts may void any liability on the part of the manufacturer.
  • Unauthorized operation – The operational safety of the equipment delivered is only guaranteed if the equipment is used in accordance with the directions contained in this guide.
