µPELT-ts Family BYK-Gardner GmbH BYK-Gardner PELT (Pulse/Echo Layer Thickness) gauges are nondestructive ultrasonic coating layer thickness measurement systems. All PELT gauges, including the touch-screen µPELT-ts, can measure multiple layers of coatings on both metallic and non-metallic substrates. Terms and Conventions µPELT-ts Refers to the BYK-Gardner product line of touch-screen based, hand-held ultrasonic layer thickness measuring systems.
BYK-Gardner GmbH µPELT-ts Family Panel file A text file (PNL) created on the host computer than loaded onto the gauge. The panel file can be used to establish a new job with the number of points and point location names. This detail is displayed on the gauge to assist the operator.
µPELT-ts Family BYK-Gardner GmbH Theory of Operation PELT provides a non-destructive measurement solution for multi-layer film thicknesses all within a single measurement. PELT gauges are essentially acoustic microscopes. Very high frequency ultra- short pulses of ultrasound are used to resolve and measure layer coating thickness. PELT gauges are the highest resolving power ultrasonic thickness gauge on the market.
