Prior to doing any repairs on the French Door models, it is important to note the force required to move the
as it was when the repair was started. A gauge will come with the chain assembly and inner door panel
assemblies.
Using the Force Gauge
1. Open the doors 3 to 4 inches.
2. Reset the gauge marker to zero.
3. Hook the gauge around the handle, keep the gauge perpendicular to the door, and slowly open the door
approximately 5 inches. Avoid jerking or rapid motion when opening the door. The marker will show
maximum force.
4. Record the reading for reassembly.
NOTE: The doors only have to be moved a short distance, approximately 3 to 5 inches.
