INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Contact with food

Only these parts are intended for contact with food, under the conditions indicated:

  • These parts can only be used with this appliance. Do not use the parts separately for other applications.
  • Before using the appliance for the first time wash the parts intended for contact with food as indicated in the Maintenance section.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR FIRST USE

Before using the device for the first time, operate it while empty for 15 minutes at the maximum temperature in a well-ventilated area to eliminate any odours and fumes due to possible residual traces from production on the internal parts of the device.
Remove the plug from the power outlet and let the device cool down.
Before using the appliance for the first time, clean it as indicated in the "CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE" paragraph.

APPLIANCE USAGE

  • Remove the container (2) from the fryer and insert the ingredients on the basket (3). Refer to "PROGRAMS AND SETTINGS" paragraph for information regarding the preparation of ingredients.
    Avoid food coming in contact with the heating element. Do not fill the basket beyond the MAX level and pay particular attention to foods that can leaven. Never use the container without the basket.

    never pour oil or other liquids in the container or in the basket. Use of oil is only allowed as indicated in the "PROGRAMS AND SETTINGS" paragraph.
  • Insert the container in the appliance.
  • Insert the plug in the power socket. The key will flash to indicate that the appliance is connected to electricity supply.
  • Press the key to enable the keys.

MANUAL OPERATION

  • Press the ; set the temperature by pressing
  • Press the key , set the cooking time by pressing the keys.

Press the key to start cooking.

PRESET PROGRAMS

  • Press the key and select one of the preset programs.

Press the key to start cooking.

During cooking

The display shows the set temperature and the remaining cooking time.

  • Press the key to modify the temperature by pressing the keys.
  • Press the key to modify the cooking time by pressing the keys.
  • Press the key to temporarily stop the cooking (pause) and press it again to continue cooking.
  • Press the key for about 3 seconds to interrupt the program (ventilation remains on for a few seconds).
    warning NOTE: some food must be stirred half way through cooking (refer to "PROGRAMS AND SETTINGS" paragraph). In this case, remove the container from the appliance, paying attention to touch the handle only. The appliance turns off when the container is removed. Shake the container and place it back in the appliance. The fryer reactivates when the container is inserted again and the cooking cycle starts from the moment when it has been interrupted.
  • Once the time is up, the timer emits an acoustic signal, the display shows "End" and the appliance turns off (ventilation remains on for a few seconds). Remove the container and check cooking is complete. On the contrary, place the container back in and set more minutes.
  • Once cooking is complete, remove the container (2) and pour food in a proper and heat-resistant container.
  • Reposition the container (2) in the fryer.
  • Disconnect the appliance from the power outlet and let it cool down.
  • Clean the container and the basket as indicated in the "CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE" paragraph.

The values indicated can vary based on the dimensions of the ingredients, the quantity and the type. Avoid cooking particularly fatty foods (e.g. sausages).

  1. Peal and slice the potatoes
  2. Carefully wash and dry
  3. Pour a half tablespoon of oil in the bowl, add the potatoes and mix them to season them.
  4. Remove the potatoes so the excess oil stays in the bowl. Put the potatoes in the basket. NOTE: for crispier potatoes, cut smaller pieces or use a little more oil

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Disconnect the plug from the socket and let the appliance cool down well before cleaning it.
In order to clean the appliance, use a soft or slight damp cloth.
Never use abrasives or chemical solvents.
Do not use very wet substances, liquids or cloths to prevent water from entering into the appliance and irreparably damaging it.
Never use abrasive sponges to clean the inside of the appliance.
To clean the heating resistor, use a brush or a dry cloth to remove any food residue.
To clean the basket (3) and the container (2), use hot water, washing up liquid for washing dishes by hand and a nonabrasive sponge; DO NOT WASH IN THE DISHWASHER.
Do not clean the container, the basket and inside the appliance with metal tools or abrasive materials to avoid damaging the non-stick coating.
Do not use the appliance if the non-stick coating is damaged.
NEVER IMMERSE THE APPLIANCE INTO THE WATER.

  • This unit can be used by children aged 8 and above and individuals with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacity, or lack of experience or knowledge, if they are provided with adequate supervision or have received instructions regarding the use of safety equipment and that they understand the risks related. - Children must not play with the unit.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
  • Keep the equipment and its cable out of reach of children younger than 8 years of age.
  • The appliance must never be operated by means of an external timer or with a separate remote control system.
  • If the power cable gets damaged, it has to be replaced only in a service centre approved by the manufacturer, in order to avoid a hazard.


The surfaces are subject to heating up during use

  • Before using the appliance for the first time, clean it as indicated in the "CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE" paragraph.
  • Do not position the appliance against a wall or against another appliance. Leave at least 10cm of free space behind, to the sides and over the appliance.
  • Keep the vents free of obstruction.
  • This appliance is designed for use at an altitude of no more than 2000m above sea level.
  • The appliance can operate at 50Hz or 60Hz without adjustments.

After removing the packaging, check the appliance for any signs of damage. In case of visible damage, do not use it and contact a qualified technician.
Do not leave parts of the packaging within the reach of children.
This appliance is not a children's toy: it is an electrical device and must be treated with the necessary caution.

Before connecting the appliance, make sure that the power supply voltage matches the indication on the data plate.
Electrical safety of this appliance is assured only if it has been connected to an effective earthing system.
If the plug and socket are not compatible, the socket has to be replaced with a suitable type by skilled persons.
Do not use adapters or extension cables which do not meet current safety standards or that exceed the current carrying capacity limits.
Unplug the appliance from the mains when not in use.
Do not tug on the power cable or on the appliance itself to remove the plug from the socket.

The use of any electrical appliance requires that a number of basic rules are observed, namely:

  • Never touch the appliance with wet or humid hands.
  • Children must be supervised to make sure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • Do not use the appliance when barefoot.
  • Do not leave the appliance exposed to weathering (rain, sunlight).
  • Do not subject it to rough handling.

In case of failure, disconnect it at once. Do not attempt to repair it, but take it to a service centre approved by the manufacturer.
If you decide you do not want to use this appliance any longer, disable it by cutting the power cable - of course, after disconnecting it from the socket.
If the power cable gets damaged, it has to be replaced only at a service centre approved by the manufacturer.
In case of a breakdown or malfunctioning of the appliance, disconnect it at once. Do not attempt to repair it, but take it to a service centre approved by the manufacturer.
The appliance has been designed and manufactured to operate as an electric cooker in the home. Any other use is considered inappropriate and dangerous.
Do not use the appliance out of doors.
For safety reasons, the appliance should never be opened.
During use, rest the appliance on a flat surface.
To prevent children from accidentally touching hot components, use the appliance on surfaces that are at least 85 cm high.

Keep the appliance out of reach of children and the disabled since the plates reach high temperatures.

Do not move the appliance when on, when it is hot and when it contains food.
