Before the first use
- Read these operating instructions carefully before using the appliance for the first time.
- Remove all packaging elements and stickers, but not the rating plate.
- Place the plate of the grill on the housing.
- Place the raclette grill on a non-slip, level and dry surface.
- Clean the surface of the grill and the paddles with a damp cloth, if necessary with a little detergent and warm water. Do not use abrasive sponges.
Smoke and smells may be emitted from the appliance during its first use. The appliance should therefore be heated for approximately 10 minutes before any food is placed on it. Allow the room to air during this time.
Operation
- Your Raclette Grill (Art-6435) is equipped with a nonstick coating that prevents the build-up of food and facilitates cleaning.
- The non-stick coating means that you need very little or no oil / fat to prepare the food.
- The Raclette Grill with the natural stone surface (Art6430/6435) does not feature a non-stick coating. There is no need to add oil to the stone.
Tip
To prevent the meat from sticking to the natural stone surface, simply sprinkle a little salt on the stone. - The appliance's stepless temperature control allows you to set the grill temperature to suit the food to be grilled or to keep food warm.
- Tip: Stone is a natural product that can crack or break if the temperature changes abruptly. This can be largely avoided by treating the stone as follows prior to its first use:
- Clean the stone as indicated.
- Wipe the stone dry thoroughly.
- Coat the top of the stone with a heat-resistant (edible) oil.
- Then place the stone in a cold oven and heat to 220°C.
- Leave the stone in the oven for 45 minutes.
- Now switch the oven off and let the stone cool down slowly until it reaches room temperature. DO NOT cool the stone with cold water.
- Even when these measures are implemented, small cracks or colour changes may appear in the stone over time. This does not constitute any grounds for complaint, as its function is not impaired!
Initial operation
- Place the grill in the middle of the table, on a dry, non-slip, flat surface.
- Chop the meat into bite-sized pieces. This allows them cook faster.
- Connect the mains plug into the socket.
- The indicator light comes on.
- Select a heat setting, to suit the temperature of the food to be grilled.

- To bake over, slide the paddles into the provided space under the surface of the grill.
- Tip: When the surface of the grill is covered with food, it is possible that hot fat or water splashes from the grill surface.

Do not turn the food with metal tongs or forks. This may damage the non-stick coating. Only use grill utensils made of wood or heat-resistant plastic!
