3 TIPS to Succeed

Important a dvice that will make your aquarium experience simple and successful.

Success Tip 1
Lighting
Only keep aquarium lights on for 8-10 hours during the day, then turn off at night.

Success Tip 2
Feeding
Give your fish one small pinch of food 2 or 3 times per day.

Success Tip 3
Water Changes
Only change 25% of the water once per month.
Never empty all the water at once.

Drip Loop

Whenever you plug in any electrical appliance, it's important to utilize a "drip loop". This prevents water droplets from reaching the electrical outlet, which can cause a severe hazard.

To make a drip loop, follow the diagram above. Simply drop the power supply cord below the level of the outlet you're plugging it into. This way, if any water should get on the cord, it will drip off before it reaches the electrical outlet.

Installation

1. place aquarium on Strong, Stable Surface
   • Place aquarium evenly on a level surface so that all sides of aquarium are supported.
     
   • Surface should be able to easily support more than 50 lbs.
     
2. add Gravel
   • Carefully pour rinsed gravel into middle of each aquarium.
     
   • Spread gravel evenly around aquarium bottom.
     
   • Gravel depth should measure about 1 from the bottom.
3. add Plants, Décor

Rinse plants and décor items

• Place plants and décor items into each aquarium in desired location.
  
• Cover base of plants and bottom of décor items with gravel to hold securely in place.

4. add Water to Filter Chamber
   • Slowly pour room-temperature water into filter chamber until it fills completely without overflowing in the aquarium chamber.
     
   • Once water in filter chamber has emptied, check "Max" level indicator to see if more water should be added. If so, repeat step above until water level reaches "Max".
     
5. add Water to Aquarium Chambers
   • Pour room-temperature water into aquariums over your hand to avoid moving gravel, plants and décor.
     
   • Fill aquarium with water to 1/2" from top of frame.
   • Add water conditioner to filter chamber.
     
6. add Filter Cartridge

Rinse filter cartridge before use

• Place filter cartridge in slots in filter chamber to fit securely.
  
• The word "FRONT" on filter cartridge should face the aquarium chambers for proper fit.

7. add Covers and Turn Power On

Adjust flow rate of pump as needed

• Place covers on filter chamber and each of the three aquarium chambers beginning with the third (end) aquarium chamber.
  
• Plug power cord into proper outlet using "drip loop" method (see above).

8. add Fish

Wait 24 hours before adding fish

• Remove aquarium chamber covers.
• Test water in aquarium chambersto be sure it is approximately the same temperature as the water that the betta is in.
• Add an ounce of aquarium water to the water the betta is in. Wait 5 minutes. Repeat.
• Using a net, carefully remove betta from store container and gently place it in one aquarium chamber. Place cover on aquarium chamber.
  

Only ONE betta should be in each aquarium chamber.
