The Enterasys Wireless Standalone 802.11n Access Point (AP) has two
models, AP3630 (3 internal antennas) and AP3640 (3 external
antennas, RP-SMA connectors).
Unpack the AP from its carton. The carton contents include:
– 1 wall mounting bracket
– 3 screws and 3 wall plugs
– 1 plastic rivet (to secure the AP to the bracket)
– 3 external antennas (AP3640 only)
An additional security bracket can be purchased that provides
port protection and cable management. For more information,
contact your sales representative.
Note: For model AP3640, attach the 3 antennas to the RP-SMA
connectors on the AP before mounting the AP to the bracket.
1. Using the 3 screws, mount the wall bracket within six feet of
a wall outlet and near the LAN Ethernet cable plug coming from the wall.
2. Press the back of the AP onto the bracket, aligning it with the open notches in the bracket. Then
slide it down until the security spring clip holds it in place.
Note: The bracket shipped with the AP is identical to the bracket used with APs 26xx, 3610, and
3620 models. If you replace an AP 26xx, 3610, or 3620 with a Enterasys Wireless Standalone
802.11n AP3630 or AP3640, you can mount the AP3630 or AP3640 on the existing wall bracket.

To remove the AP, take out the rivet, release the
spring clip by inserting an Allen key (or other

the bracket, then slide the case up the bracket
and lift off the AP.
