2 Routing Protocol Configuration

2.1 Routing Information Protocol RIP

You can modify RIP routing by giving the next command in global configuration
mode:
Router(config)#router rip

2.1.2 Specify a RIP Version

By default the software receives the both RIP version 1 and version 2 packets but send
only version 1 packets. To control which RIP version an interface sends, use one of the
following commands in interface configuration mode, shown in Table (2).
Router(config-router)#

Enable automatic network number
summarization
Set a command to its defaults
Control distribution of default information
Set metric of redistributed routes
Define an administrative distance
Filter networks in routing updates
Exit from routing protocol configuration mode
