1. Introduction
This manual is for professional users only.
This manual cannot be used for S 41, S 46, S 51 and S 61 stainless steel pumps.
2. Recommended Spare Parts
2.1
The pumps are designed for a life time of 10 or more years.
2.2
If the pumps are used with an abrasive medium the life time of some parts can get reduce down to
some months only.
2.3
If the pumps run with fluids that can stick, crystalize or react with air the mechanical seal parts can
have a reduced life time. In this case please contact you pump partner, we have many options to
increase the life-time of seals, depending on the problem that you encounter.
2.4
We recommend to hold some reserve parts for emergency or even a spare pump. We recommend
following parts:

3. Disassembling safety
Before attempting to open or service the pumps:
3.1
Familiarize yourself with this manual.
3.2
Before starting to dismantle a pump all relevant and appropriate safety precautions must be taken,
particularly if the pumps have been handling hazardous or toxic products. Seek advice from your safety
officer or the manufacturer if you have any doubts.
3.3
Always wear adequate protective clothing and eye protection when dismantling pumps that have been
used to pump toxic or hazardous products. Breathing equipment may be necessary.
3.4
Always isolate the pump electrically before dismantling. Ensure that the electric gear switch cannot be
operated whilst any work is being carried out on the pump.
3.5
Allow the pump to completely cool, if overheated.
3.6
Check the temperature before opening any covers, plates, or plugs.
3.7
Close the suction and discharge valves.
3.8
Vent the pump slowly and cautiously.
3.9
Always drain the pump casing of product before removing the pump from its associated pipework, flush
out the pump casing and shroud it with a compatible flush and drain away to a safe area.
3.10 Check with your process people to see if any special decontamination procedures have to be followed
before working on a pump.
3.11 All pumps returned for factory servicing must be decontaminated and labeled to inform what precautions
should be taken before dismantling.

The following instructions are considered for grease lubrication. If you use oil lubrication follow the same instructions, just fill the lubrication chamber with oil.

The rotating part of the seal (5 s/dwg) mounted on the shaft sleeve (3 s/dwg) will automatically slip off the shaft. 4.12 Change Motor or bearing housing if necessary. 4.13 Remove the shaft sleeve support water deflector (1 s/dwg).

    Instructions 15031299 / 08.05.2015 / 4 - 8 5. Replacing the impeller Unscrew the casing nuts (52). Remove the casing (01) without damaging the gaskets (43). Block the impeller (03) with a screwdriver or piece of wood and unscrew the impeller nut (33). Remove the impeller washer (66).
  • Page 5 Instructions 15031299 / 08.05.2015 / 5 - 8 6. Replacing the front wear plate Unscrew the casing nuts (52). Remove the casing (01) without damaging the gaskets (43). Remove the wear plate screws (57). Remove the wear plate (02). Clean the wear plate seat and fit the new wear plate into it. Tighten the wear plate screws (57).
  • Page 6 Instructions 15031299 / 08.05.2015 / 6 - 8 7. Replacing the rear wear plate Check if the pump uses the rear wear plate. Typical pumps are: S 65, 63, 68, 85, 88, 91, 96, 105, 121 and above. If the rear wear plate is present, follow the instructions. Unscrew the casing nuts (52).

    Instructions 15031299 / 08.05.2015 / 7 - 8 WARNING: Before measuring lift the impeller (03), use two screwdrivers or two pieces of wood to lever behind. The tolerance of the shaft can cause wrong measuring and require a new adjustment. 7.15 Reassemble the casing gasket or gaskets (43) after smearing the faces and the surfaces of the gaskets in contact with each other with grease.

Alignment of the coupling Type SUPER-ELASTIC COUPLINGS (/10, /14, /18, /22, /26, /28) 10.1 When using couplings (on closed coupled units not mounted), the axis of the power source must be aligned to the axis of the pump shaft in both the horizontal and vertical planes.
