Set the controls and switches as follows:

CONTROL
Completely counterclockwise

VOLUME
CONTROL
Completely counterclockwise
(9 ~ (1) THUMBWHEEL
SWITCHES
Desired frequency
(Others may be at any position or setting.)
Turn the @ VOL control clockwise to click ON and а comfortable audio level.
