How the VESDA-E IDNet Detector Works

The VESDA-E IDNet detector operates identically to respective conventional detector with specific
differences in how it communicates with the FACP and uses the internal button. Refer to the respective
conventional product guide for more details, the main differences are described below.
The VESDA-E IDNet detector communicates with the FACP on the IDNet loop using the IDNet protocol.

Essential alarms and faults are available on the FACP, and the panel can control the essential detector
parameters and functional status. In comparison, the respective conventional detector uses external
FACP monitor modules to connect to the IDNet loop with relay-based basic alarms and fault
annunciation. The VESDA-E IDNet detector does not require external modules.
