Introduction

5.1 Optical gas imaging of methane

The FLIR GF77a is an infrared camera for optical gas imaging (OGI) that allows oil and
gas operators and other industrial markets a solution for continuous and autonomous
leak detection. The FLIR GF77a is used in industrial settings such as natural gas proc-
essing plants, biogas and power generation plants and helps to protect the environment
by tracing leaks of methane.

Note Gas leaks are easier to see in live mode, which is the reason the leaks are indi-
cated with a red dot in the images below.
