    Introduction 5.1 Optical gas imaging of methane The FLIR GF77a is an infrared camera for optical gas imaging (OGI) that allows oil and gas operators and other industrial markets a solution for continuous and autonomous leak detection. The FLIR GF77a is used in industrial settings such as natural gas proc- essing plants, biogas and power generation plants and helps to protect the environment by tracing leaks of methane.

By your choice of image mode, you select which type of image to display on the screen.

Select one of the available image modes. 10.4.4 Colorizing the image 10.4.4.1 Palette You can change the palette that the software uses to display the different temperatures within an image. A different palette can make it easier to analyze the image. The most suitable palette for a certain application depends on many different factors, such as the target temperature and emissivity, the ambient temperature, and the distance to the tar- get.
