    Shipping Screws The load cell in your DETECTO 6745 Digital Baby Scale is secured during shipping by two shipping screws, one on each side of the scale enclosure where the carrying handles will be installed.

    INSTALLATION, CONT. Battery Operation The DETECTO 6745 Digital Baby Scale can use six C-size Alkaline, Ni-Cad, or NiMH batteries (not included). If you plan to operate the scale using batteries, you must first obtain and install the batteries before operations can begin. The batteries are housed in a holder attached to a removable panel on the bottom of the scale, secured with a thumbscrew.

    OPERATION The following steps describe the operation of the DETECTO 6745 Digital Baby Scale. Note that a set of condensed instructions appears on the face of the scale as well. NEVER leave an infant or child unattended while on the scale. Failure to maintain control of the infant or child at all times while they are on the scale can result in severe injury to the infant or child.

If the scale should require re-calibration, the following describes the calibration procedure.     BLUETOOTH LOW ENERGY (BLE) The DETECTO 6745 Scale has a wireless transmitter inside the scale weight indicator that can be configured for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). When possible, BLE standard specifications are used (those that are adopted by the Bluetooth SIG). Custom services were created to request indicator and scale information whose communication protocol was developed by the Scale Manufacturers Association (SMA).

    ERROR AND OPERATION MESSAGES The DETECTO 6745 Scale is equipped with diagnostic software that tests various portions of the scale’s circuitry and verifies proper operation. Should a problem be detected, an error or status message will be displayed. The following lists these messages and their meaning.

    PRINTER OUTPUT The DETECTO 6745 Digital Baby Scale has an RS-232 serial port that may be connected to an optional printer to record weight. The output connector is located on the rear panel. Refer to the figure below. When the weight display is locked on the baby’s weight and the Weight Lock annunciator is turned on, the weight data may be transmitted by pressing the ENTER key.
